This one does. The one I'm really on the fence on is the Marx Hunting Party Brontosaurus. I'd have to inspect that one up close to make my decision.

avatar_Blade-of-the-Moon @Blade-of-the-Moon Is yours for sale?

Sorry no,  I spent so much time finding it and the Stegosaurus, then even longer finding a good condition Rex. I was loling about the osteoderms. I never even considered it to have them. There are bumps though for sure.  They are a beautiful retro set if you can find them. I think Dejankins helped me locate the Rex, it wasn't super cheap though.

Would relief on the spots be the deciding factor? If I'm not mistaken, at the time the Flintstones aired, no sauropods were known to have osteoderms. That wouldn't come until the 1980 description of Saltasaurus. So the animators surely intended anything like this as spots.

Yes, my rule is that they must be raised and clearly delineated. A guy's gotta have some boundaries, right? On this one it's so tenuous I feel like I'd have to inspect it in person to determine whether I need to pursue it or not.

Oh, there were big vinyl figures stuffed with foam sold at Animal Kingdom at DisneyWorld. I think there was at least Alioramus, Compsognathus, and Cearadactylus.

Quote from: Halichoeres on April 12, 2025, 12:28:51 AMOh yeah, one of the best museum exclusives I know of is the Primeval Predators kit from the Royal Ontario Museum: https://dinotoyblog.com/primeval-predators-kit-royal-ontario-museum/

I am not aware that they've ever been sold anywhere but their gift shop.

They were sold at the Royal Tyrrell for a while when they first came out. That's where I got mine

Ah, interesting. Can it be a museum exclusive if it's sold at more than one museum?

Interesting quibbles :)   As is so often the case, there is probably no clear answer to this.

I found another exclusive, by the way:
The ChildrenĀ“s Museum of Indianapolis  Oviraptor egg "Baby Louie".

I know there's that one yellow CollectA Deluxe Triceratops that was offered only at a museum I think (looks like it was a good idea that I left notes on the figure's entry on the DTC site. Was a Melbourne Museum exclusive).

Yeah, Melbourne Museum has an exclusive version of their 2022 Deluxe Triceratops (above) based loosely on the reconstruction in their exhibition. I honestly prefer it to the standard version!

There's also several variants of Takara Tomy's Ania dinosaurs exclusive to the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum. I own the four below (Fukuiraptor, Fukuisaurus, Fukuivenator, and the T. rex based on their animatronic), I know there's also a white T. rex and I believe some new ones came out recently.

I forgot about those Takara Tomy figures. I think there's a brown Triceratops only available there too? Or at least on their website that isn't available on Takara Tomy's online store.

Speaking about them though I think their Yutyrannus capsule figure set from back in the day was also museum only.

Wasn't that whole set a museum/expo exclusive? With the Yutyrannus a chase?

And that makes me think of all of the event/museum exclusives from Japan by Kaiyodo, Favorite, and Takara (plus others). It's always hard to tell how those go. Would they count in this thread as well?
