Blade-of-the-Moon

Prehistory Resurrection

Quite late to the party but just snapped up this bad boy today;

I do not recall having seen the 2018 Super Posable version or the Grab n Growl version in any of the local stores in my country (Mauritius) about the time Fallen Kingdom was released but boy, am I glad I didn't get any of these versions. This one is the definitive Indoraptor to get.

This is one of my most prized collectibles in my collection because of the backstory behind it and also because it's the best Indoraptor sculpt from Mattel. I want to tell the unbelievable yet incredible backstory of how I got it. So there was a discount on a Samsung TV until the 26th of October in one of the home appliance stores in my country. My family and I needed a second TV for our home, so we decided to get it. We couldn't get it on the last day of the discount but my father negotiated for the next day if we could get it (the 27th) still with the discount. Fortunately, we could. So the next day, my parents got it. There was a wheel in the  home appliance store for customers who bought Samsung product(s) above MUR 20,000 (equivalent to about US $445) to spin. My mom spinned the wheel and got vouchers of up to MUR 7,500 (about US $167) for specific stores only. Among the specified stores on the vouchers was the toy store in which I snapped this bad boy.  So, cash wasn't used at all but vouchers. My birthday is on the 12th of November so, it's also an early birthday gift from my mom (Thanks Mom!) It was about MUR 4,500 (about US $100). It's also more or less the same price if you buy it online with shipping in my country (Mauritius). A lot but once again, cash wasn't used at all! Only vouchers! What an opportunity!

With Ferocious Pack Blue for comparison.

My two latest acquisitions; I also got this cute 4 in 1 Clementoni Jurassic World Dominion puzzle recently; a very nice gift for a Jurassic World fan.

Carnoking

Hmmm... seems he has the harder face of an older BD Wong but the short hair of his younger appearance. I agree, something's not going together here. Good set to choose though, and nice to see Mr. DNA

avatar_Prehistory Resurrection @Prehistory Resurrection Congrats on the luck there, and your early birthday presents. I did not know you were from there either. It took me a minute to remember why I knew that place, and yeah it was the former home of the famous dodo.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Picked up the Henry Wu and Mr DNA set today, oddly pretty easy to do.  The really weird thing is I received an email saying it's shipped already.

Doubt anyone here cares too much about this, but not sure if this should count as a 2023 or 2024 release. Since the op here already has a section dedicated to this, and it technically became available this year, I'll be adding it to this thread's list of things. It just became available on Amazon. It's another Fierce Changer, this time with Bumpy and the Ceratosaurus:

Some more new Mattel additions, courtesy of black friday sales.

Plus a couple of random pickups.

Spoiler

Probably should have gotten a couple of these Irritators seeing as they're already going the way of the Ceratosaurus  :o

Had to get a couple of Corys though. This figure was long overdue!

Also sprang for the "improved" rex during the sales, though I gotta be honest, I don't see much of a difference.

The real standout of the bunch is easily this carno though. This is peak Mattel right here!

Spoiler

Even by Hammond Collection standards, this thing is top notch. Quite possibly the best thing Mattel has done in the entire line.

I'll still be getting any abelisaur they make though  ;)

And credit where credit is due, I've been a bit more choosey with the mainline as of late but some things are just too good to ignore!

Faelrin

I'm still overdue on some of these. Particularly that wave of HC, that big Triceratops, and some others like the Elasmosaurus, and Diabloceratops (which although I have the far surperior BotM one, I kind of like it and it was on my wishlist of things I wanted them to make).

Still waiting for BBTS to put the Carno for pre-order... or amazon.com to re-stock...

Blade-of-the-Moon

Amazon has a few of the Ekrixinatosaurus left so I ordered one. Gonna see how much I like it in hand, if not I'll sell it. You can also still order the Gryposuchus even though it's out of stock.

The Ekrixinatosaurus is quite the nice surprise both sculpt and proportions wise. Definitely one of Mattel's stronger releases lately.

I thought so when I first saw it, but now I'm judging everything by the HC Carno..probably not the best expectation lol
