Me and my family are planning a trip there. any attractions or shops that a Dino guy should see?

I was thinking of the Illnoise State museum. Any thoughts?

I've been thinking of that myself if my great Canadian vacation falls apart. I've heard that the State Museum (502 S Spring St,) has a lot of fossils and good exhibits (mostly Devonian, Carboniferous, and Pleistocene stuff) http://exhibits.museum.state.il.us/exhibits/larson/ for their Megafauna.
