Is £5 a good price for a battat dilophosaurus? (it has damage)

Hi, My cousin was a keen dinosaur collector now he is 21 so he passed his dinos to his younger brother who
is offering a battat dilophosaurus to me for £5. Half a foot is missing but it can still stand, also there is a lot of paint rub.
I am not sure wether to buy it, £5 is a lot for a damaged dinosaur even if it is battat.

Remember that all Battat 1:40 scale dinos will be re-released beginning in 2015. We don't know what the prices will be, but with that in mind, it becomes a question only you can answer: Would you rather pay now for a broken and worn figure that you might be able to buy brand-new for a little more money later this year?

SpittersForEver

Oh I didn't actually know they were re-releasing them. Does that include the diplodocus? Also this one would be an original so it would be nice to own.

All 18 Figures from the original MOS line will be re-Released, with new paint jobs and some anatomical tweaks (for instance, the Utahraptor will be feathered)

Don't count as a definite the corrections are going to happen. I'm still talking to Battat about that. NOTHING definitive for now. Please let's not jump the gun here.

SpittersForEver

It sounds great. I have decided to try to get him down on the price a bit but I will be buying a lot of the re-releases  :D

5 pounds is a bargain in my opinion, regardless of condition. Remember, this is a figure that at one point sold for well over $200

Okay that has made up my mind  ;) I'll take it off his hands as soon as possible

if i were your cousin, i'd just give that damaged figure to you for free...

Yeah, he is saving up for a computer though so he is trying to get as much as he can but it would be nice if he did (he's not even interested in them)

I guess helping out your cousin is a nice thing to do! I got my Battat Dilophosaurus for about 25 $ when I bought it off eBay. It's the Diplodocus that has been selling for hundreds of dollars.  But 5 £ still sounds reasonable.

Yeah, I have bought it now but I've just realised that their are some pink specks, is this the colour of the figure underneath?

The "slug"or unpainted toys are a fleshy beige/pink color

Is there a way for you to obtain "slug" sets for some of us?

I am afraid not. I have one ( Amargasaurus) that was given to me 20 years ago as an example. Not available to the public.
