The necessity of uploading them to an external site and then pasting them here just became too cumbersome when I stopped using a computer a couple years ago. It's really cut down on my use of the DTF and especially sharing my newest acquisitions.

I don't blame you. I don't do it much anymore and I still use a computer. I've gone to the dark side, my dinosaur pictures get posted to Instagram and Facebook.

Maybe one day I'll get my Vitruvian Bothriolepis as a tattoo:

That's great. I've always liked fossil specimen tattoos. And the benefit of them vs. life reconstructions is that you don't have to worry about inaccuracies.

Hey and welcome! To post images you need to use the image file address (not the web page address). I've edited your post for you. :)

This is my thinking, too! If I were to get a tattoo (I'm not) then it would have to be a fossilised skeleton like this, rather than a life restoration.

This :D I never got a Dinosaur Tattoo, because of this. Fossils are planned, but nothing that i have planned so far. I draw my tattoos for myself if possible. My left Arm, Shoulder and Chest are full. Stomach left side is unfinished since 2019 :D But also full. Wanted some Fossils and Cephalopods on my left Leg, maybe. I have mostly Space/Cosmic Horror and a tiny tad spiritualism/occultism and Geometry. So a lot of Arms and Tentacles  :D No Colour.

Nice Idea of a Thread. Interesting.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres fantastic Idea!

Great tattoo, avatar_WitcherClo @WitcherClo (and welcome to the forum!)

I agree it's much safer to get a skeleton/fossil rather than a reconstruction. Luckily, antiarchs wear most of their skeleton on the outside!

This is mine. I've had it for nearly 20 years now. I might add a meteorite in the background to make it funnier.

Looks awesome!

After the excavation in Balve 2024, the members of the then team spontaneously decided to get a small Iguanodon tooth tattooed. I have decided against it, because my plan is to return to the creator unpainted. Tomorrow I will meet Jakob who is a part of this year's team, too and will take a picture.

Spinokaprogorgon

I want a dinosaur skull tattoo with flowers and plants coming out of it on my forearm. I don't know what dinosaur I'll choose but I've got a few years to pick one🙃

I have a design that I really want to make real, but I need to lose more weight first (80+lbs lost in the previous 12 months) and I'm a bit conflicted on part of it...

What I want to do is a "1%'r Motorcycle Club Patch Set" style back-piece. The center would be an image of the skull of AMNH5027, the first complete Tyrannosaurus skull known to science. A rocker across top calls out HELL CREEK, the bottom rocker calls out Montana. To the left of the skull is the year 1905, the year Tyrannosaurus was described (not discovered). To the right calls out AMNH5027 itself. A smaller set of sub rockers, inside the main rockers call out Barnum Brown, with a smaller W.T. Hornaday call out below it on the bottom, and Osborn on top.

My issue rises once one accepts that Osborn in particular held wholly incorrect and hateful opinions on the subject of race. This man, whom I cannot have met, did work that is influential in my life, something I literally see every day, and that work is something I celebrate. But his worldview was subhuman, and for a scientist to think this way dismays and greatly disappoints. Clearly  "don't meet your heroes".

And still... I see his name, I feel his presence, and his work fills me with joy.

Conflicted.
