That's not bad at all for a first go.

While I'm an artist in the 2-dimensional realm, painting had never been my strong suit so I was a little reluctant to try my hand at it a few years ago. But my sister, who paints gaming miniatures helped me get started, and I feel pretty confident now.

I think it's actually easier than actually painting a 2D image on a canvas, because you don't have to worry about shading and lighting as much.

But yes, it gets easier over time. Definitely get some "cheapasaurs" to experiment with.

Thank you for the compliments! It's nothing special, but I figured having an existing figure to reference was a good place to start. I might consider an original design for the next one - if I decide to do another.

Well, maybe I am just a bit biased, because I have the big Schleich Apatosaurus too, and I love it ;D

That's definitely a big improvement on the original, and a solid job for your first time! Better than my first attempt, I'd warrant.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.
