Yes, a little 10-inch tank only about 2 inches wide. It's perfect for little fish photos!

In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Well, it's about 1am here, and I'm drunk as usual after work. I went outside in the pitch black to smoke a cigarette (which I really shouldn't do because a snake bite in my current condition could kill me in as little as 15 minutes - but, what are you gonna do?) and I hear a snuffling sound. I knew what it was, but fetched a spotlight and found an Echidna had somehow clambered into a pot plant. These things seem able to climb pretty easily. Must be ants in there. Echidnas are as mischievous as Gremlins.

That little rapscallion! Did he ruin your plant?

avatar_triceratops83 @triceratops83 - Freaking amazing. I am so envious of your wildlife.

avatar_TheCambrianCrusader @TheCambrianCrusader - Apparently I've been in life support long enough to go native. I immediately saw the Bahamian anole, dismissed it, and started trying to figure out what all those gate valves were for and why you had fabric lying on them.

avatar_Ajax88 @Ajax88 - Those are some lovelies! I would suggest snorkeling, but farm creeks may not be the safest environment to do that in. There really are some gorgeous animals in our streams, completely unknown to the vast majority of the public.

Nah, it was an empty pot. But now I'm wondering if I should place my Hoop Pines on blocks or something. I wouldn't want my beloved conifer babies ruined. Between Echidnas, Bandicoots and feral pigs, this yard gets fairly dug up.

My intrusive thought would be to touch the echidna.  :||

Their spines are very sharp, but at least they don't run backwards like a porcupine - they just curl up in a ball. I've picked one up in a jacket once, to get it off the road (they're very heavy).

In my mind it's "just like a hedgehog" which I have held before. I do realize that it is probably not like a hedgehog.  ::D  No intrusive thought would win if it were a porcupine, they leave their quills inside you.

The quill is mightier than the sword...
