With a fresh new forum, it's a perfect time for me to finally share some of my wildlife photos.

A partial leucistic California Towhee.

A gorgeous, and skittish, Hooded Warbler.  A rare migrant and winter visitor in my area, I've been trying to get a half decent shot of this guy for over two months and the wait finally paid off!

Lilac-crowned Parrot.  A sizeable feral flock of these noisy beauties is established at the park where these photos were taken.  On closer inspection, this bird's looking a bit more like a Lilac x Red-crowned hybrid.

Thundercharge

Saw a couple real life dinosaurs while I was doing a quick diorama/relaxation trip  ;D

Ardea herodias, the Great Blue Heron.

And Aramus guarauna (Limpkin)

They were both picking around in the water together, and I watched them from a distance for a while :)
I also got bitten by a mosquito or two, and after watching the birds I looked around in the nearby undergrowth, noting some spiders, ants, and numerous creepies at the microscopic level when I found this guy (well, girl):

She was so full of my blood that she couldn't move, so she was hidden beneath a bunch of leaves while she digested her, um, meal.

Click sig for my collection! :)

Not for us Aussies, its autumn here.

It's spring alright, the toads are at it again. Two females, 10 males...

Well it's Winter here but the temperature was a record 82 degrees today.  In fact four of the past five days have set similar records.  It's like Summer.

A lot more amphibians within the next couple days. Wood frogs, spring peepers and with any luck maybe a chorus frog but for now just these American toads.

Takama

They are all over the place in my home town.

so I like to take a jar out, and see how many I can catch whithen a certain time limit.

Dont worry, I let them live and go when I get bored with them.

ZoPteryx

The toad in the first pic looks like he just got caught doing something he shouldn't have been! ;D

Spring peepers, American toads and wood frogs but still no chorus frogs (though I did hear some).

Can anyone spot the caddisfly larvae?

I think it looks magical. :D I was about to say how much I like the picture with the trees.

What a cool swamp!  I can't find the caddisfly larvae though. ???

There is a stick being overlapped by the frogs right leg, it is holding on to that stick.

A new night and some new pictures!

No new activity? Spring is here people (sorry Australia), get out there and see what you can find!

This house sparrow was dust bathing outside my window just awhile ago.

The toads are doing the nasty in my tiny pond in record numbers this year: 16! And only 3 female...
