The artist Gary Armer, who paints a lot of pictures of toys, has won the 2022 British Art Prize for his painting "Life Finds a Way," which features a number of Safari and Invicta (and other) dinosaurs. It's cool to see them showing up in capital-A Art.

Holy cow, that's a painting? I would have believed you if you told me it was a photo.

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres For real. Definitely could have fooled me. But looking at the images that shows the progress, and if you zoom in on the final image, you can make out bits that expose its true nature. Just wow, that's mind boggling skill, and no doubt from someone with a lot of experience doing this sort of stuff.

Also kind of reminds me of those still life paintings with various fruit, etc, but with like a more relevant subject to our little space on the net here. It's incredible work, and good to see he was awarded for the effort it likely entailed.

Edit: Here's his instagram if anyone would like to give him a follow. He's got a lot of other wonderful pieces based on other classic figures.

Is that the Invicta Stenonychosaurus? That one's pretty rare.

I've seen it before on social media, it's an outstanding pieces. The likeness of each toy was captured perfectly, you could swear it was a photograph at first glance.  I wonder if prints of it are available, would love that framed next to my collection!

I came across it recently via social media too.  Quite amazing.  I bet Anthony Beeson would have loved to have added it to his huge collection!

CityRaptor

At first I though it was some sort of frame containing actual toys. That's an impressive piece.

Ironically it is missing any Jurassic Park figures.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Crackington

It looks like one of those ebay dinosaur joblots, but wonderfully reimagined. Beautiful work.

I had to grab a copy of this magazine. It has high quality pics of it as well as his story of how it came to be.
