Quote from: ceratopsian on January 05, 2025, 08:42:43 AMI'm glad you managed to get the last Hypsilophodon family. It remains a great favourite of mine. A shame that CollectA abandoned the experiment of producing such groups of small dinosaurs.

I agree, I wish there were more like the Hypsilophodon.

As for the Megaraptor, I ordered this reddish brown one but they sent me the bluish gray one. No big deal, they're both nice, but it's good to see photos of the one I didn't get.

CollectA's Struthiomimus are neat, but did you consider Kaiyodo's Ornithomimus or CollectA's new Gallimimus too? The latter in particular would fit nicely in a Nemegt Formation display alongside PNSO's Deinocheirus and Therizinosaurus.

I very much hope to get the latter once it drops, probably alongside HLG's Saichania! I'd also love to get Kaiyodo's, but it's rather expensive to import models from Japan.

Have you tried asking Brett for the Kaiyodo figure?  I got mine from him in the US and the price was good.  Since you live in the US I imagine it would be even cheaper for you.

I got Kaiyodo's Zuul from Brett and the total price was pretty reasonable. And Brett is very nice to deal with, I recommend him too.

Definitely a possibility I'll look into! There are some other kaiyodo figures I'd probably prioritize over this one however.

avatar_DefinitelyNOTDilo @DefinitelyNOTDilo I remembered you have Safari's Citipati, so what do you think of Bandai's? Even if it's too big to be in 1:35 scale (it's in 1:26 scale according to avatar_Georassic @Georassic 's calculations), it'd still scale better than Safari's ~ 1:15 figure (ignoring the fact that Bandai's may not be based on Citipati proper  :P ). Unless you're using it as stand-in for Gigantoraptor? Speaking of Gigantoraptor, PNSO is apparently releasing one at some point (a non-mini version, that is).

And in case you're interested in a Pachycephalosaurus figure, what do you think of CollectA's? It's in about 1:35 scale IIRC. Certainly not as good as PNSO's, but PNSO's is in ~ 1:25 scale, so too big for a 1:35 collection.

I am using it as Giganto lol, I'd be interested in the Citipati if I can get the whole set for a good deal, you wouldn't happen to have a size for the Velociraptor would you? Curious if it would work as Adasaurus. As for pachy, I've been considering it but the CollectA just doesn't quite do it for me, and the PNSO is ofc too big.

Concavenator

avatar_DefinitelyNOTDilo @DefinitelyNOTDilo AFAIK, and in case you didn't know, Brett takes individual orders, so I believe you could get the Citipati by itself in case it's the only figure from the set you're really interested in.

As for the Velociraptor, I made a quick search and turns out it's 13 cm long. I recall having seen a collector stating they're using it as a 1:35 Austroraptor.

avatar_DefinitelyNOTDilo @DefinitelyNOTDilo Just curious, are you using Safari's Anzu as a stand-in for some other oviraptorosaur genus? Same for Bandai's Citipati, in case you get it.

I ask because the Anzu is in 1:25 scale according to avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres ' calculations and the Citipati in 1:26 scale according to avatar_Georassic @Georassic 's.

I'm using the Anzu in 1:35, while I don't know the exact measurements, compared to my human model it seems about right for the maximum size (based on the giant Anzu footprints.) As for the Citipati, I'm unsure what I'd use it for.

On an unrelated note, I plan on making some small 1:35 models for diorama purposes, these would be 3d printed. Because they're so small, the detail would likely be lacking, and I'm curious if anyone would be interested in me selling the files when I do?

Didn't know about those footprints, that's interesting! TIL.

Nice selection of ankylosaurs there. And what about CollectA's Borealopelta? It's in ~ 1:35 scale, and despite its small size, it's a nicely sculpted and painted model. Here it is with PNSO's Zuul, the only other ankylosaurian figure I have, so you could get an idea of what it would look like alongside at least one of your figures:

It's definitely on the list, I could use more nodosaurs, it's just a matter of when I pick it up lol.

Probably gonna do an order of safari and collecta figures from DeJankin's at some point as they're the only ones who still have the Koreaceratops
