Who sculpted Conca and the um...Protoceratops?

The unnamed abomination maker.

Seriously, we don't know that sculptor's name.

I'm really curious to see the sales figures/data between Mr Seo's sculpts versus the mystery sculptor's ones. If Papo keeps comissioning this sculptor, then it means their figures sell well enough to justify more of them :-\

While Mr. Seo has made questionable decisions in the past; e.g. Giganotosaurus pose, something EverythingDinosaur warned Papo about I believe back when the figure was still in production. His sculpt quality and style are considerably more consistent than the new sculptor, along with giving us many more hits than misses.

Side note, do we know who sculpted the Suchomimus? Mr. Seo's style lean towards the JP leathery-skin aesthetic. While the Suchomimus is a digital sculpt with individually picked out scales.

The Protoceratops is, if you ask me, still leagues better than the old marine reptiles.

I think the Plesiosaurus is better than the Protoceratops and the Protoceratops is as bad as the Tylosaurus.

The old marine reptiles were so bad I forgot they existed until I just looked up a photo of them. Yikes!

Blade-of-the-Moon

I think they are nice retro pieces.

The Protoceratops is ugly, but it's not performing a painful act of neck contortion unlike the Plesiosaurus and Tylosaurus.

That said, it's neck does connect to the wrong place on the skull so it is doing a little bit of awkward neck bending. Not breaking its neck like the marine reptiles though.

GojiraGuy1954

the Ampelosaurus has appeared on Everything Dinosaur.
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

I'll admit I'm kind of starting to warm up to the Ampelosaurus, although not for what it's intended to be. It really doesn't speak Ampelosaurus to me, even with the outdated reconstruction. Maybe I could use it as some sort of Turiasaur or Haplocanthosaurus?

Any idea when the Suchomimus will be released?

No idea unfortunately. Haven't heard anything about it since it was shown at toy fair way back.

I saw someone on social media say February but I'm not sure if they were a reliable source or how they would know.

That someone is Paleo-Nerd, so yes, you can trust us.

We asked Papo and that was the answer... Obviously, I hope there are no further delays, but that is what we were told when they sent us clearer images of the 2025 novelties.

Thanks guys, can't wait for this guy to be released. On another note are the PAPO Kronosaurus and Mosasaurus any good?

Same here. I don't have the Mosasaurus but I personally really like the Kronosaurus. I'm not sure how accurate it is, but in terms of paintwork, sculpt, and details, I think it is excellent. Probably one of their best aquatic prehistoric figures.

This seems to be the only image I have of mine. Next to the Papo 2023 fence lizard. If you like I can take more photos at different angles.

Thanks mate much appreciated. It looks great in this photo and has put my mind more at rest to buy one since I sometimes find really unflattering images of them.

I reviewed the Mosasaurus here: https://dinotoyblog.com/mosasaurus-papo/

I'd say these are their two best marine reptiles, but I prefer other companies' takes for both animals.
