Quote from: thomasw100 on November 22, 2024, 08:02:17 AMI really hope that we will still see something with feathers before the end of the year. Already two years ago PNSO was doing feathered dinosaurs like Therizinosaurus and Deinocheirus so well and I wonder what they could do now. And even if for now they would like to stick with about 1:35 scale, there are many opportunities like Gigantoraptor, Utahraptor, Gallimimus, another therizinosaur, ornithomimid or large dromaeosaur.

Gigantoraptor has been mentioned by Paleofiguras, and he is very reliable. He did also mention Mosasaurus.

I'm willing to bet that Gigantoraptor, Mosasaurus & a lipped Tyrannosaurus Rex will be made by PNSO within the next 12 months, as well as some famous Theropods that need lips.

Paleofiguras mentioned PNSO will make Ichthyovenator too.  PNSO making theropods they previously made lipless could be interesting if they release more than Tyrannosaurus and Carnotaurus, which I have no interest in.  But I doubt they will remake more than those two.  We'll see though!

Absolutely! As we all know, China's paleofauna is nothing short of impressive, so I think it's a shame they've released figures of taxa like "Sinopliosaurus', Zhuchengtyrannus or Wuerhosaurus (just because they wanted to tackle some local genera?) instead of taxa like those you mentioned.

I haven't purchased any PNSO figure since the Allosaurus Saurophaganax that I think it's one of their best figures, but I couldn't miss the oportunity of the 11.11 discounts and got a good deal for the Edmontosaurus.

In fact I already had the Haolonggood edmontosaurus (I bought it second hand) but the ONLY problem the figure has it's the SIZE. Man, Edmontosaurus is one of the largest ornithopods, they missed the oportunity to make an impressive figure. So I decided to get the PNSO too, just because of the size. And it doesn't disappoint at all, look at this beauty:

There is a fault with the sculpt and it is not a matter of the pose, the left hand is twice wider than the right hand and so is the nail. Nevertheless, it is not a very noticeable defect if you look from the sides. The eye looks too tiny, I would have preferred an eye the size of the Parasaurolophus (that is small but not as much). The texture of the scales is very good, I love the neck scales, in that size they can be appreciated better than in the HLG figure.
And then just look HOW GOOD they both look together. They can pass perfect as an adult and a juvenile and their colours are very alike (I like a bit more the HLG design). So they both will stay in my collection (I don't have normally more than one figure of each species at display but this can be a nice exception).

I find it odd that they haven't made a Shunosaurus yet!

Same! I just want my favorite sauropod already!

For some reason I thought they had one but I think I was just confusing the tail knob on the Mamenchisaurus.

More basal sauropods in general would be cool too. A Spinophorosaurus would be excellent since the tail spikes were disproven and a new posture was constructed.

thomasw100

I would like to have either Shunosaurus or Omeisaurus. The latter would be cool because one could display it along the Haolonggood Mamenchisaurus.

The first post is going to be update with lokiceratops?

I wonder if there really won't be any new PNSO figure for November?  We'll find out in a few days...  I'm surprised PNSO has slowed down so much, maybe this is what to expect from PNSO for now on.  If they're reducing their output so much, I don't expect they will remake any theropods with lips in the foreseeable future, except for Tyrannosaurus.

I was thinking of posting something like this because I am getting anxious for more lol. And whenever we say something they happen to respond with a release shortly after  ;D

But we will see. I imagine we get one more release this year. But this years release schedule doesn't necessarily mean anything for next year. It could just be slowing down and preparing for a big year next year.

But I agree if its this slow I prefer new species instead of spending time updating a lot of old ones.

For few years now PNSO had probably a rather large market share out of the total sales of high end dinosaur figures. Now with strong competition from Haolonggood they may have seen a decrease in total sales and consequently PNSO may have adjusted their release strategy to this new situation. Many people are excited by the large 1:35 scale sauropods that Haolonggood has been releasing and these take up a considerable fraction of the budget of the average collector. For example, one Haolonggood Argentinosaurus plus shipping comes to 250 to 300 USD. This is the equivalent of 5 to 8 typical PNSO figures. Compare this with the 7 figures that PNSO has released in 2024. I believe that PNSO will need to make sure that each of their releases is so good and is taken up so well by the community that it will be a definitive success.

Which is why PNSO needs to make a Dilophosaurus!  Who could resist it? ;D

PNSO will be at an exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia. Maybe they will show something new there?

Over here in the UK, as well as in China, it's now December.  So no PNSO figure for November after all.  And it's looking more likely no Sinosaurus will come from PNSO this year even though it was featured in a New Year cartoon by PNSO with Sinoceratops.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Maybe January? Or after New Years.

Ambre

Maybe we will get something in december since its a time where there are a lot of holidays in the west but i wouldn't get my hopes up. I kinda like the fact that PNSO realeses less figures because my wallets couldn't keep up with their previous release schedule

I agree. Before I typically only collected Papo, Nanmu, and Rebor when it came to dinosaurs. Now that I started dabbling in Haolonggood and PNSO, I can't keep up even though I don't buy every new release.

It pays to keep an eye out for sales. I was behind on PNSO but just picked up several on Amazon at 25% off granted I had to wait to get them so I'm definitely not the first showing them off lol
