From towering giants to baby sloths, it doesn't get cooler than this.

Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age — Streaming November 26

Quote"Prehistoric Planet: Ice Age" uses the latest scientific research and cutting-edge visual effects to bring this frozen world to life like never before, unveiling the spectacular habitats and inhabitants of ancient Earth for a one-of-a-kind experience. From towering woolly mammoths to elusive snow sloths, terrifying saber-toothed tigers to resilient dwarf elephants (only 3 feet tall), the series reveals the epic struggles and unexpected stories of animals that once ruled the Ice Age. Viewers will journey through vast tundras, barren deserts, expanding grasslands and melting permafrost as these creatures battle for survival in the face of extreme climates, shifting landscapes and the onset of "The Big Freeze," and ultimately, "The Big Melt."
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

My prayers have been answered: prehistoric mammals. My body is so ready for this.

Faelrin

Super stoked for it. Hope they do a Paleozoic one next.

While Dinosaurs are my favorite by a long shot, I'll take more Prehistoric Planet gladly!

PrimevalRaptor

Incredibly excited about this, shame Basilosaurus won't be in this but I'll gladly take another chance to catch up with extinct mammals. Those designs already look gorgeous!
Also really cool to have Framestore work on this.

Samrukia

i am glad they went similar route, like WWD and WWB

This is fantastic news. I wonder if they'll use live action humans and extant animals mixed with the CG ones considering this really wasn't that long ago. I have a feeling they'd integrate flawlessly considering the quality of the effects. I also can't wait to see how realistic these animals move with actual real-life animation reference to draw from in their modern relatives.

I like dinosaurs more than mammals (obviously) but I'm glad this isn't a third series set in the late Cretaceous. But the ice age is unfortunately the least interesting part of the Cenozoic for me. I would have preferred a more niche time period, but I absolutely understand why they did it. I'm never going to complain about more Prehistoric Planet, though. Super excited.

The teased Glytodont makes me excited to at least see some South American weirdos! :D

I hate to be that guy but I have little interest in critters outside the mesozoic.

Give me Triassic, Jurassic or Early/Medium Cretaceous instead.

This reminds me that I have yet to see Ice Age Giants.

Hopefully Prehistoric Planet gets a proper home release. The exclusivity to streaming seems to be this program's only flaw.

If i wanted to see mammals, I'd watch National Geographic Wild allday. I don't need CGI rhino or big cat to behave like a rhino or a cat.

They should have 3rd Season with different dinosaurs or ages. At least permian creatures if not dinosaurs.

I can not describe how happy I am right now the Ice Age has always been my top choice to see get the Prehistoric Planet treatment. Hope to see some Australian beasties.

Joliezac

I'm so unbelievably hyped!! I feel like we haven't had many good shows with prehistoric mammals so this makes me so happy!

Me too. I really hope we see some of the lesser-seen southern animals during this period. Absolute top of my list of species is Quinkana, which should have been around in Australia 10,000 years ago when this is likely set. Any weird ice age croc would dofor me, though! :D

As much as I would have preferred they had stayed in the Mesozoic for at least one more season, especially given that both 1 and 2 only focused on the Cretaceous, the fact that Prehistoric Planet is still alive and well is very encouraging to see.
Three or four years ago if you had asked me if I gave a darn about Prehistoric Mammals, the answer would be a resounding no, but a few museum visits in recent years as well as books by the likes of Brusatte and Panciroli have really expanded my interest in prehistoric life, and I'm hoping this does the same!

I'm sure there will be new Triassic/Jurassic/Cretaceous documentaries in the future. If you took the mammal to dinosaur ratio of documentaries, there aren't many mammal shows. In my book, prehistoric mammals are more interesting than dinosaurs and deserve an occasional documentary.

Anyways, I'm stoked!

I think we will since we're also getting dwarf elephants so that speaks to the global variety they're doing I just hope they don't make it too mammal centric.

Trenchcoated Rebbachisaur

Happy about the spinoff happening at all, but damn, I sure hope they don't spend too much time in Bore-ope and North Lamerica...  :*D The Pleistocene (/Quarternary?) has a lot of nice stuff to offer, but lots of the most popular stuff is just... Incredibly boring to me

Carnoking

I know some folks are expressing their hopes for something with less of a focus on North America/Europe but what I wouldn't give for an American Midwest episode. Heck, even just a segment
Like, can you imagine seeing the Clash of the Mammoths brought to life here?? Please, please, please!

Takkar

I couldnt realise what i was looking at for the moment. When i realised i almost got a heart attack lol. No way, they just decided to do a worthy sequel to WWB just like that. Woolly Rhinoceros and Sloth pics look incredibly realistic. First one is Homotherium i presume, shouldnt it be dark red or brownish? Overall this is gonna slap. Cant wait for the trailer.
