Papo's Allosaurus definitely beat Hasbro's in the matter of existence by a few years.

I get there's not much accuracy in both sculpts, but quit ya whinin': at least we get entirely new sculpts instead of more repaints of lame figures, like happened in the last 12 years. I'd call that an improvement! :)

Not whining, just teasing that JP figures are going to start looking like Papo figures now (I can't wait to see their take on the marine reptiles...)

Blade-of-the-Moon

Eh both probably had the same source for inspiration..Todd Marshall. ;)

Allow me to review this bad boy, whom I have named Shlomo.

HEY! You over there! I'mma take your skin bub!

Yumm...

WAAARGH!! NOOO!!!*chomp*

The TLW Allosaurus! Will they get along?

FU! this town is mine!

"other" Allosaurus. Get it? Get it?

Wow, first JP mold in like 13 years. It's funny, I feel like I'm in a time warp. I was a sickly kid, and most of my dinosaurs were bought while I was sick. I haven't been this sick in 4 years, and today I went JP dinosaur hunting. It feels...sooo weird. I feel like it's 1997.

Anywho, wow, I am impressed. The mold is excellent, slightly accurate, obviously inspired by Mr. Marshall's iconic work. It's very detailed, and it's got articulated hips, ball jointed ankles, ball jointed shoulders, swivel neck, ball jointed head, and swivel jaws. The colors I think are very appropriate, and very nice. It's roughly as long as the JP Allosaurus, as well.

Now, I thought the $30 price tag was outrageous, but being a TRU exclusive, and JP, this is gonna get real rare really fast.

Also, it comes with a 3.5inch tall dude whose name I forgot. Comes with two swords, a pistol and a compound bow, and has the standard GiJoe 14 pts of articulation. It's a nice human, overall.

Anywho, I would have gotten the Pachyrhinosaurus, but I spent enough $ today on toys.

I'll go for it next week, so watch out for the review!

Blade-of-the-Moon

lol Nice review !  He's bigger than I had thought that's for sure.

..but Shlomo ? Come on ! ;D

Primeval12

Chuck Norris is the reason all the JP dinosaurs have "Dino Damage".

Awesome pics! If possible, could you possibly take more size comparison pics to other JP items?

suspsy

Nice. I wish Grimlock would show up in Canada already.

The Allosaurus and Packy must be released to the largest cities currently, because I just went to my local TRS an hour ago, and nothing.  >:(

This has probably been discussed somewhere here but do these 2 new dinosaur species mean they will probably show up in JP4 the movie. It would be pretty awesome to see a Pachyrhinosaurus charge one of the JP Jeeps and completley destroy it.

Not tied to JP4- these were actually sculpted way back in 2009.

Anything works! Either a well known dinosaur or human.. Maybe next to something big like the Bull Rex, and something small like a JP3 trike or raptor.

Blade-of-the-Moon

If anyone picks u pa couple of these guys let me know and maybe we can work out a trade deal for em'.  I only have one TRU and it's in a city over. ;)

EmperorDinobot

Well there appears to be only one of each per case...

But we shall see.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I would swear I saw a pic just today of a TRU shelf and there were at least two of each there.

eBay isn't any help yet..people are asking 50.00-100.00 each already...buncha scalpers.

I remember that similar situation when they re-released the bull Tyrannosaurus and people had them on ebay for $80 to $100, except there were plenty at the stores! Although I never bought the dang thing, because every time I saw it it made me want to puke. This Allosaurus, however, is really cool. I can't wait to see it in person. But 30 bucks? C'mon, jerks, cut us a break! We're already paying through the nose on everything else (like gas, of course), with no hope of raises for us in sight! Sheesh!

Rant communication mode terminated.

EmperorDinobot

Yeah, guys, no scalping. If you see them, please don't hoard them. They are expensive, but you know what? This Allosaurus is soooo damn nice, I haven't put it down since I bought it. I take it with me everywhere. I love it very much. It's an excellent mold. The Pachyrhinosaurus not so much, but it's still very pretty, except for that rhino neck bump. But I still can't wait to get it.

Also, the Chap Mei Liopleurodon is BACK. $16 for a Liopleurodon, a motorboat and a human figure. God I saw sooo many toys today...New 52 Batman, Hot Wheels Robinmobile, Vintage Penguin, all the Chap Mei dinos I want, Papo dinos I am missing, new Transformers and well...this. My Wallet is gonna take a fatal hit it seems. I need a job.
