Ive done that before, bidding on something because I thought a friend wasn't, so we end up jacking the price up for whichever one of us wins  :-\
But on the plus side, I think its very neat how members here seem so very tolerant (on the surface anyway) about loosing auctions to friends or other forum members. I am on another forum where the members are always at each others throats over this sort of thing.
My living room smells like old plastic dinosaur toys... Better than air freshener!

Painted invictas In package!!!!!!
I just had to show you guys

I screwed myself over on this lot.  :-\ A friend of mine is currently undergoing a late Invicta phase in his life. I figured he was aware of this lot, so I asked him whether he was going for it and provided him with a link to the auction. He said he wasn't sure whether he would bid on it. Result: he did, he won, I was the second highest bidder and ended up screwed.   :P *insert random extremely offensive swear word here*

Yup, that one got a little rich for my blood. There was no way I could compete. I have two of those already anyway.

Yeah, I'm not holding it against him, I'm just disappointed he couldn't tell me what he wanted to do (bid or not) immediately. I could have saved him like 15 bucks in hindsight.

The last time I saw one of those on ebay (last year) it didnt go for much more than a regular plastic one.

Here are some Castagna Dinosaurs, including the rare Pterosaur:

A little pricey though...maybe someone can shave some of that price off with a more reasonable offer.....

That's a shame. I contacted Dan, and he said the listing was for the model only, not the reproduction rights. Otherwise I'd have been happy to make it available to everyone again.  :'(

What a pity! That would have been great :)!

....... maybe some Chinese manufacturer is gonna win it (they don't take care too much about reproduction rights there).

Who would you contact about gaining reproduction rights? Seems sort of silly for a person or company to hang on to them if they aren't reproducing the figure or even planning to. Would make more sense to hand the rights over to someone who will make good use of them.

He said Battat still own the production rights, while the Boston Museum of Science own the copyrights. He's tried repeatedly to get the ball rolling with them, but they seem paralyzed with indecision. It's pretty sad, but at least the darn things haven't been lost entirely. Maybe someday.

[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

The same seller also has Sue with her mouth open but she is generally easier to find. I wish he was selling these a couple months back when I was looking for one. I'm half tempted to buy another but I can't justify spending money on a double when there are so many other figures I need to get. It is up to you guys here on the forum to buy them all before I change my mind. That Torosaurus is one of my favorites.

I picked up the remaining three when I returned from work. Set one aside in case you did not get one. I purchased a set of these in the original boxes from the sculpter back when so.......If you really wanted one , leave me the information and I will send it to you Himmapaan

Amargasaurus, that truly is so kind of you. I haven't quite lost faith in all things yet, it seems.  ;D

I will send you a PM shortly, and please allow me to thank you in the form of a small drawing when I have more time.

Since I had already gotten mine in a box set, some years back, I figured to get an extra for display seperate. Since there were three left figured, shipping should not increase for such a small dinosaur to get the rest. When they arrive I will send one out to you. A drawing !!! Yes , I would enjoy that very much of course , and thanks, although the little dinosaur is yours regardless.
