You know you've always wanted your very own Swamp dinosaur with mystery action. What could the mystery be!?

i have the theropod/Godzilla version of that..Radio Shack used to carry a whole line of them. The biggest was a 4' inflatable version that had a motorized rock base you could run him around on. :)

Not necessarily. It could be an original, and they just decided to sell it on. That seller has a lot of rare gashapon in his store, but many of them are too overpriced for my liking.

Custom paint of the Sideshow Tyrannosaurus...if you don't care for the original colours

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tyrannosaurus-Rex-Maquette-by-Sideshow-Collectibles-/271419160177?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f31d7b671

;D ;D Ha, ha! Many wasted "hours of airbrushing and details picked out with dry brushing techniques".
50 years of building models, many for commission? What about his eyes? I can't believe someone really thinks this custom paint is superior to the original. The guy could have made a better deal by selling his original faux bronze statue (which he should know after 50 years of experience ;D).
I'm pretty sure he noticed that he failed and now wants to get rid of the model.

I could never understand the criticism about the model's colouration. I'm very satisfied with mine. ...... o.k., I do not have 50 years of experience ;D.

Yeah once he painted it the value went out the window except to someone who wants it to paint again. It will never have the same value it did.  The paint work on the Rex is one of the most exact copies of the original prototype out there.  It's the last one I criticize for paint work..unless he just flat out didn't like it..the color, application, everything about it bothered him.  Though it almost looks to me like he was going for the coloration of the actual piece.. :?

Guess that means that now there is one faux bronze Sidehsow Tyrannosaurus less. Also, while the original may be brown, this one looks like it came out of a mud bath.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

I don't think it's fantastic either. I liked the original paintjob too, I always thought that there was some reasoning behind the colouration (the bright red head was some kind of flush signalling sexual maturity? Lots of birds have bright red heads too)

Btw, I always thought the original was yellow, not brown...

Waaaaay too expensive. Man, I know this model is scarce, limited edition and all, but really? ?? Over a Hundred!

Agreed it's overpriced but I bit the bullet anyway as I think this is one of those things I'd regret not getting later. It was close though--if the shipping wasn't free I would have passed. Anyway, the important thing is none of you tell the wife how much it cost...

Yeah he's a very old male, the red coloration was a sign of sexual maturity, I believe the story mentions this that came with him.

It had a sort of golden yellow/brown body ..colors are hard to describe on the well done ones.  I recall when the Carnotaurus came out I saw a pale blue coloration..others said it was green.  Could depend on your lighting as well I guess.

lol It's probably close to 3 times the original price, but if you love it that much and never plan to re-sell it's a perfectly fine .  The card art looks  pretty cool too with the skeleton behind it. I hadn't noticed that before.
