By any chance, are you planning on an Acro for the 1/40 line?

Here are the first pics of 1/40 Majungasaurus and Kosmoceratops castings.  Dan Dinosaurs should ( or perhaps already does) have these for sale.  I'm not sure on the prices yet, but I thought you'd like to see these.  I'm sure there is more detail than the pics show.  I have yet to get my own copies and photograph the built versions.

Very coool figures  ^-^. One day , I would like to have and paint one of these figures but I think that these figures are too expensieve  :-\.
[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

Any new news on shapeways figures? New ones perhaps ::)?
Have you seen the new Isissaurus that is on the way yet? I'm not sure if it's new, but it looks new. :)

That's not made by David Krentz.

Here is the page for ordering.

These figures have bases ( nothing fancy, just an Antediluvia style base) to provide for better poses in this series.  Dan will also be carrying a base I made for the 1;40 Saurozoic T.rex as well.  The rex does stand on its own, but a big bump will nock it down of course so best to protect your purchase with a base.

As for whats next...I have few things in the works.  What will most likely be finished first will be a 1;40 Troodon, because the world needs one.  I'll be putting that on Shapeways because the size will make it cost effective to do so.

1/40 Troodon ? Certainly interested it that..never have bought any model or sculpture of one...mostly because they don't exist..well..much.

The world does indeed! If it's anything as accurate as the lovely Troodon from Dinosaur Revolution, you can bet I'll be buying one. Any chance of a somewhat larger version in the future, perhaps?

krentz

The Troodon will be a new model, not the one from DR.  It will be fluffier though, more feathers and less hair.  I'm sure a 1/20 Troodon would not be too expensive on Shapeways, I'll give it a try and see how it looks.

Thanks for pointing out my new Facebook page Blade.  I'll be posting stuff all week to get it going.
If you guys see your paint/build-ups on there and I forgot to credit you please let me know in the comments section under the photo!

Don't expect a Twitter account from me.  That just makes no sense to me.  Kids these days... with their iPods and Hula Hoops...

Oh, excellent! I would definitely be interested in a fluffy, 1/20 Troodon!
Yeah, I generally figured the DR feathers were more like hair for the sake of the CGI. Much simpler that way!

Dan

I don't know, CGI hair can still be pretty taxing to render. Although I would be curious what makes David decide on details like these; the process always fascinates me.

Yep, it can -  but imagine rendering a hair simulation using complex feather structures instead of simple filaments :o Of course one could do sort of a cheat, using feathery or furry-looking texture maps with bump or displacement (a la the Walking With series) but these days, that's tougher to get away with.

I absolutely would be in for one (or more) of those! Please do give it a try!

A 1:40 Troodon?? Great. Another thing to clog my vacuum nozzle.
Where's the Deinotherium??!  I need a real challenger for the Rex, Krentz, 'cause the wee Kosmo didn't last 2 rounds....
