I meant yellow with diagnal black stripes similar to the stripes on the Dinosaur Revolution cryolophosaurus.
Oh very nice choice, probably not going to be the standard for them but not hard to reproduce

Oh yeah money orders will be fine, paypal too of coarse, I'm looking into what it would take to accept cards now too, I don't want anyone to have to send checks through the mail but that would be ok too,

And my bad, sometimes you just get a number in your head and you don't know where it comes from, but archaeornithomimus and poposaurus are both 1:20 not 1:30 hope that doesn't bum anyone out

ZoPteryx

These look fantastic, well done! :)  Poposaurus has always fascinated me!

brandem

thanks zopteryx,
well I've gotten my molding supplys in and my studio has gone from artsy to walter white-esk laboratory and I've produced my first mold, hoorah,
but on the artistic side I've not been resting on my laurels, I've had time to take a second pass a balaur, now to order more sculpty

thanks spino,
turns out mold making is pretty fun, soon I'll have a small army of simosuchus clones:

now for the paint

Great results for your first cast. I've heard casting replicas can be very a expensive and messy process. What was your experience?

Well it was definitely messy, latex gloves and large sheets of paper over the workspace went a long way,  as for the cost that wasn't too bad, for the mold of simo the cost of materials was about ten dollars, I'd multiply that for anything larger but the expense wont increase exponentially, so long as you find the sweet spot between walls that are too thin an tear easily and walls that are too thick and waste money, at least that's how I'm going to proceed.  It's been harder to determine the cost of resin as I keep mixing more than I need, but for the size of simo I am estimating five dollars a pop, there is sealer and ease out but they are used so sparingly the costs is in cents, everything I got I got from smooth on based out of the US I'm not sure what the options would be in the UK.

Balaur

brandem

Hey all been away for a while but still been busy, simosuchus is done and here is a photo of him until I can borrow a better camera.
He has been resculpted to more accurately reflect the animal.
His standard color is a gator green with rusty highlights to make it seem as though he's been playing in the dirt.
If you have your own ideas for the color though nothing is too hard to do.
he comes completed with paint or as a five piece model, if you have any questions email or pm me!

next up is archeornithomimus' resculpt and it is about to be molded

Jetoar

[Off Nick and Eddie's reactions to the dinosaurs] Oh yeah "Ooh, aah", that's how it always starts. But then there's running and screaming.

{about the T-Rex) When he sees us with his kid isn't he gonna be like "you"!?

thanks jetoar, he's definitely the smallest of the coming set but hopefully someone will want him in their collection,

alternatively here is a stone themed simosuchus, less likely to have had this coloration in like but hands on it shows of the details better,
again the flash on the camera washes it out a bit, better pictures to come.

Cool models :)! By the way, will you still cast the original version of the Balaur as well as the new one?

Balaur will be getting a third sculpt that combines the better aspects of the two previous models, and since the models I'm making now are in multiple pieces, there may be an option for having interchangeable limbs, allowing for some personalization,

Cool :)! Also, can you make the third model less shrink-wrapped, like modern birds of prey. And I also thought I should mention that Balaur is now considered to ba an avialan rather than a deinonychosaur.

Well the second models feathering is based somewhat on archiornis plumage, in the future I also intend to sculpt a balaur based on a herbivorous diet, barring the discovery of a skull that discounts that hypothesis. And while it is very avian in some respects I couldn't deny certain dromeaosaur affinities.
