Dan released several photos on the Carnegie Tyrannosaurus and the Safari Pachyrhinosaurus on Facebook.
I am bothered by the overall lack of texture on the Tyrannosaurus.
It has smooth skin...
I really hope it is just the photos' poor resolution.

Filched from Dan's FB.
These pictures show why the Carnegie line is still my favorite out there. And I'm really liking what I'm seeing of the Wild Safai line like the Pachyrhinosauus too.
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

Dan

The previous Carnegie Rex was 9.5" long, while the 2014 edition is 7.5" long. Is that what you meant? There isn't much size difference noticeable between them, it's mainly the tighter tail curl on the new model that affected the length, I would say.

Okay, thanks.

Pics of the Monolophosaurus? Please? :D

I will try to get some shots if I have time later. He's looking awesome, though. A bit darker than the stock photo, but the detail is dense, and the teeth are especially impressive. Possibly some of the sharpest I've ever seen in a mass-produced figure.

Bokisaurus

Hmmm, that T-rex is reminding me so much of a frog or amphibian!  ;D
I feel like I want to like this rex, but something about it just really turns me off  :P

Takama

I wish its head was looking up a little more.   Then you have the Iconic JP Rex Roar stance

Blade-of-the-Moon

The head the new Rex looks really good...the body does seem smooth..I'm not sure if that's glare, overly thick paint apps or what..but it does kinda look odd. I can see skin detail up close though.

One of the claws on the hind feet seem a bit..globular ? A little malformed there.

The paint apps seem really poor compared to the stock pic..almost haphazardly done with an airbrush..but that is fixable.

Overall I'd guess a 7 out of 10 based on pics alone.

So when are the Pachyrhinosaurus and Monolophosaurus supposed to be out? Wasn't it supposed to be December, or was I wrong?

And the Carnegie Tyrannosaurus is out in January? Any estimation on when it will be out (early, mid, late Jan.)?

I read the entire discussion, yet somehow missed that they were all out.

I checked Dan's Dinosaurs and it seems that even the ammonite and Evolution of Man figures (slated for a March 2014 release) are out now, is that correct?

Yes. Dan posted on his Classified page and on his fb that all 2014 Safari releases are now out.

Beautiful Pachyrhinosaurus :)

It is a REALLY nice one..detail and color. I might get this one instead of the other WWD:3D figures.

joossa

Ugh, that rex is just... Ugh. Poor thing.
I'm loving the Pachyrhinosaurus, though!  ;D

I'd like to see some daylight, outdoor shots myself. I'll take some when I get mine from Dan if no one else beats me to it.

Yeah, I was looking through all the other images of the WS Pachyrhinosaurus at Dan's Dinosaur FB page. I believe the Wild Safari version of Pachyrhinosaurus is superior to the Papo's version. The WS Pachyrhinosaurus has a more accurate placement and inclusion of keratin deposits, horns, and a richer color, overall. It is the definitive version of Pachyrhinosaurus, IMO.

I'd love if Forest Rogers registered in the forum,by the way  :)

I'll have to wait and place them side by side..right now I'm thinking they may be about equal to each other.  It will be easier to tell in person though. :)

Any chance of seeing some pictures of the ammonite? To be honest, that's the 2014 Safari LTD figure I'm most interested in.

I took a moment today to send Forest Christmas wishes and remind her she promised to visit the forum soon, so from here it is out of my hands. I did remind her since Christmas has come .
