Hi Everyone! I'm new here and I'm very excited to share my dino art with you!!! I've been drawing dinos since I can remember. My dream is to become a professional paleoartist. For my entire career as a commercial artist all I have done is design cheap products for mass retailing. Currently, I make kids crafts and educational products. Although it helps to pay the bills it has become tiresome and I really crave a change in how I distribute my talents.

At any rate, I'd love to hear your feedback! Please feel free to share your thoughts whether positive or negative. I can take critique very well since I've had to endure some harsh opinions during my tenure as a product designer. So fire away!!!  ;)

Here's my first addition scanned directly from my sketchbook. Giganotosaurus and Acrocanthosaurus profiles.

Here's another sketch - Albertasaurus sarcophagus

I forgot to mention that these sketches are all done in ball point pen. Specifically, the free Westin Hotel ball point pens I pick up whenever I'm traveling to China for work. These pens are completely underrated and I'm so glad I discovered them. I usually stock up when I go.

I like to challenge myself with tough angles - foreshortening is something I embrace and don't avoid!

Here's a portrait of a bull Camarasaur. Again, a ball point pen drawing from my sketchbook.

Nice biro work, you're really talented. The Albertosaurus has a kind of Will Stout vibe to it :)

irimali

these are great!  the albertasaurus really pops off the page.

Ball point pen!? Wow. Stunning! Especially the texturing.  :o

@tyrantqueen: Thanks! Funny you mention William Stout. Bill was my childhood idol growing up... well, his art still blows me away. He's definitely a major influence for my paleoart. I had the pleasure of meeting him at the 1999 San Diego Comic Con. Very cool guy. His work is stunning when seen in person.

@irimali: Thanks! Glad you like it!!!

@dinotoyforum: Thanks for the warm welcome! I'm very happy to be here and even happier that you like the sketches. :)

lol I'm the same way..I like to detail every drawing  I do out the metaphorical " wazoo ".. ;) lol

I'll shoot you a PM soon..let me figure out what I'd like..surely it will involve an Allosaurus..I have to feed my unhealthy obsession with the beast somehow.. ;D

dinoartist

Blade - Nothing wrong with wazoo detailing... It's healthy for the soul. Hit me up with your obsessed Allo idea anytime! And there ain't nuthin' wrong with obsessing over a dino species... Something about those dang Carnotaurus species I fancy...

Very nice drawings! Extremely talented. I would love to see a feathered Tyrannosaurus by you! :)

Also, I see someone is learning how to sculpt in Solidworks....  :)

dinoartist

Blade - Is the new sculpt a Carnotaurus??? Must see!!!!

Balaur - Hahaha! I take it you noticed the Solidworks notes from one of my sketches. Yup. Trying to increase my value as an artist by learning 3D! A feathered T.Rex???? Hmmmm... I'll have to think about that... ;-)
