I'm in a masochistic mood, apparently, and decided to try and seek out the most inaccurate model I remember seeing.
You ready? Ok, picture this: a pteranodon/archaeopteryx hybrid.  *yuck* Big crest on the head, body and taikl crudely feathered - I can't remember whether the wings are bird or pterosaur style. The color I remember seeing is a red/orange, and I think it's found in various nondescript dinosaur buckets. Does anyone have pictures confirming the existence of this hot mess?

I just saw one of those on eBay today. They're also available at most Wal-marts and dollar stores here in the U.S. I used to have one as a kid, very strange little toy.

I guess this is the one you are looking for.

Ow... too late  ^-^ also, on ebay they are definitely cheaper than the link I posted. But it's a good picture nonetheless.

CityRaptor

I had that one aswell. Also a variant made of white plastic, where the back was painted green and the upper parts of wings and tail orange.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Hahaaa! I knew I couldn't have made up something that freaky... Thanks, guys!
Worst thing is, it's so all-out nuts I kinda want one. Not at those prices, though.

I guess there is a big chance someone on the forum has a spare one... I had a few, but sold them together with big lots of other chinasaurs... (sorry!  :-\)

I agree you shouldn't pay these prices (or even anything, it should be for free  ;))

Tylosaurus

If it's the one I'm thinking of I recall it being really odd to me even when I was a kid..I couldn't figure it out.  But I do believe I saw it in packs at walmart a week ago..probably 3.00 or so for  a whole pack.

That sounds about right, they are sold at a local pharmacy for $5.  They are JaRu figures, which were first made in the late 70s/early 80s.  Many of them were Marx or MPC knock offs, but a few were originals (like the 'Pteranodon') and some are downright worthwhile (their Macrachenia and especially their Uintatherium).  In the original packs there were also a lot of made up things that later inspired many D&D favourites--rust monsters, land sharks/bullettes, owl bears, etc.

Takama

I have recieved about a dozen of these when i was a child.

they come in random Chinasaur buckets, baggies, and sets.

Weird thing is about Chinasaurs is that they're actually much easier to find in real life than with Internet shopping. You can find them at supermarkets and jumble (garage) sale type places rather easily.

Is this what you're looking for?

Found it here

Horridus

I'll add my name to the list of people who once owned this oddity. Mine was the yellow/red variety too.
