There are strange dots all over the Sarcopterygian's skin...
..sorry but I did not understand what you're referring at in particular ...  :-[ :)

Hi,I just saw a reminder of this trait in the Dinosaur Toy Blog Review .
At the 3rd paragraph from the bottom.

What is it - is it on purpose - to reflect any attribute of the animal -

or is it just a by product of the production process ?

Em ... I think it's a pretty cool design. I'm loving the dots :) .

Isn't this attribute too conspicuous to look at ?

This is the reference:

The review on the blog was written by Halichoeres; he is an ichthyologist (for sure he's more expert than me on fishes ..  ;) )

On naked eyes the figure is quite naturally looking (on pictures it seems to be bigger than it is).

Happy Easter to all DTF

:)

Gothmog the Baryonyx

What wonderful Easter acquisitions you have.

A normal Bullyland Protochirotherium would be nice enough but, Mr Garratt is a genius.

As a side note, I initially typed I thought it would be mice enough but noticed before I hit enter, however I thought I'd mention it since I got a chuckle out of imagining a slightly mouse like Protochirotherium
Megalosaurus, Iguanodon, Archaeopteryx, Cetiosaurus, Compsognathus, Hadrosaurus, Brontosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, Albertosaurus, Herrerasaurus, Stenonychosaurus, Deinonychus, Maiasaura, Carnotaurus, Baryonyx, Argentinosaurus, Sinosauropteryx, Microraptor, Citipati, Mei, Tianyulong, Kulindadromeus, Zhenyuanlong, Yutyrannus, Borealopelta, Caihong

Those are acquisitions from last two months.
Unfortunately I didn't have enough time to take pictures of them.
Now I have.

Shonisaurus

I am very happy Robin that you have obtained the prehistoric amphibians of Play Visions although you still lack the Platyhystrix (for me metaphorically I call it the "amphibious dimetrodon") are figures that every Vintage fan should have. In my case I was getting the whole collection little by little, but what I said with perseverance is always the goal.  :)

I hope I can find it one day..

David Krentz' "Rex Mundi"

On around 2000 David Krentz sculpted a 1:18 Tyrannosaurus called "Rex Mundi":

Few copies were cast so it became rare.

On 2017 Krentz found a pristine copy of the kit:

On 2018 Dan's Dinosaurs re-casted the resin kit.

Obviously on August 2018 I ordered one..  ;)
Then I sent it to Sir Martin Garratt to be painted.

The picture reference I sent to Mr. Garratt:

Yesterday I received some preview pictures from Marilyn (Garratt' assistant):

What do you think?

..more pictures soon..

:)

Killekor

I think that it's color scheme is just striking! Especially with that "volcano" base.
Congrats for waiting in your collection that magnificent figure!

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Endothiodon

Estemmenosuchus

Hi Robin, You asked for comments:

I have to say, I don't like it a bit - I even  find it disturbing to look at.
Don't know why - too ferocious maybe, or too disproportionate, or the body posture is too weird.
But, as long as you like it - that's what count !

On the other hand - the LoneTrike Borealopelta is a wonderfull sculpt : The statue, the scenery and the fine details.
Have you noticed the paint scheme resembles ( maybe too close to comfort ... ) to the CollectA's Borealopelta...
But the paint scheme on the Bullyland  Protochirotherium is wonderfull -
I almost don't collect Bullylands other than their Museum pre-dinos series - since I find it too 'Toyesh' ...

Don't you have yet Starlux&Linde  Dimetrodon and the wonderfull Starlux Edaphosaurus  ?

The Scutosaurus by shane foulkes is so awsome - I envy you on that one !!

The PlayVisions version of those permian animals is a merry and colourful bunch of figures  -
I was just unwilling to pay the price those demand.

The Shark by Alexander Belov is too gruesome and monstrous for my taste to put on the shelf -
but, again, we don't need to have the same taste ... :)

Different opinions are welcome: always..  :)

p.s: About body proportions: I think that pictures were taken with a wide angle lens. I have older and less distorted images of "Rex Mundi":
