Hi everyone, I've recently launched a small range of dinosaur models based on the 1854 Benjamin W Hawkins sculptures at Crystal Palace Park. They are roughly 1/60 scale, so the megalosaurus is about 14cm long and was sculpted by Andre May. I intend them to be usable for role playing/wargaming and also for dinosaur modellers and collectors. Hope you like them, more will be added to the website soon! http://www.antediluvianminiatures.com/shop.html

These are really cool, love the detail. 8)  Any plans to create a plesiosaur?

Welcome to the forum, BTW. :)

Very nice.  All the figures look wonderful!  I will need to pick up the pterosaur!

This dino-oddities are really good.
Do you plan to sell them only unpainted and unassembled or also finished (in the future) ?

Tyto_Theropod

First of all, welcome to the forum! I must say, I have a soft spot for the very early reconstructions of these animals. You've done wonderful work in sculpting them. Plus, I LOVE painting models for myself. I'll probably be buying a few of these at some stage. ;)

Thanks! :) I'm hoping to do most of the "Dinosaur Court" from Crystal Palace Park, so a plesiosaurus will no doubt happen in the future! The sculptor is currently working on the hylaeosaurus. I mostly paint models for a living so I may well paint up a few for sale as well as the unpainted versions.

Sumo

Holy crap, that is amazing! Do want!

(meanwhile I'm headdesking because I am in fact working on a model of the same beastie... this guy is about 1500% better though! )

I ordered the Megalosaurus and one Rhamphorynchus. You have my support. I'm looking forward to the Hylaeosaurus :)

A miniature Richard Owen would be pretty cool.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Very cool! Been hoping someone somewhere would make a set of figures of these!

I'm definitely going to keep an eye on this! I might hold off on an order for now though, to see what else you have coming ;)

Hermes888

Has anyone else ever done these before? I only know of the Favorite 1850 Iguanodon.

Patrx

These are neat! Great work so far.

Manuel Bejarano made the Crystal Palace Iguanodon and Megalosaurus for his Shapeways shop.

Kayakasaurus

Very nice! There's something about those early reconstructions that feels important... I guess it shows how far we've come. :)

Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no
