Very nice job Mamasaurus! I can't help but see little ducklings :)). Your style is very pretty, do you use a stylus?

Thank you very much Kayakosaurus, they do look like ducklings don't they? I remember in the tv series, Prehistoric Park, the ornithomimus herd they acquired felt most at home by a pond, where they could eat like ducks. 😊

I do have a tablet and stylus, but I feel most comfortable drawing with a pencil.  I like to draw the initial sketch on paper, then clean it up and paint in color on the computer. :)

I was already working on this illustration when I saw your "hatchlings" prompt; figured I would share since it fits the theme going on here.  :)

Hello!

I had this idea for a twist on the community art thread. A single collective image with multiple artist working on different sections. Each person gets their own chunk that can be blown up and painted over, and no one gets to see how the other pieces are going until they are all combined. you can improvise as much as you want, as long as you stick to the outline at the edges of your section, they should all line up! There will also be simple color cues like, "blue sky" "green ground" "yellow dinosaur".

So,

First I need a volunteer to sketch a landscape with various dinosaurs and a theme.

We will also need artists to volunteer! There are lots of great artists on this forum, and in this thread. I'm thinking six would be a nice number to divide this project into, but the more the merrier! So, if you would like to do a section of the picture, or do the layout, or both, please leave a comment!

This is a great idea, but I'm afraid I can't really volunteer, as I'm more of a traditional artist. I only use digital media to colour pencil sketches - I'm hopeless at the other stuff. Sorry. :(

I love this idea, and your How It Works cartoon. Pursuant to Tyto's question, seems like it should be possible to do old fashioned paper drawings, then scan them to stitch 'em together, right? One would just need to maintain the aspect ratio.
