After that information sbell.  I'm not sure this will be a success.  I plan on sending the final list of animals to safaris Facebook page.   So I have to write a paper explaining why each animal would be a benefit to the company and why, and give a little background on the creature? I was going to show the final list to Safaris Facebook Page, and it was Dans idea that i do this.   Of course i will show them pictures of the animals. thats what i been doing with my personal suggestions to Safari..

In essence, yes--the images and the marketing justification can go a long way. After all, Safari's slogan is Toys that Teach. The goal is Toys that keep them able to employ and pay people--so if consideration is taken for not only interesting-to-collectors models, but also the bottom line issues, it definitely helps!

But please don't think I'm actually trying to discourage you, just trying to give a sense of the first of many, many steps in these productions. I am guessing that for every figure we see come out, someone at Safari (or any company) has seen several, even dozens, of wish-list animals get passed over for various reasons (for example, I know that Ramona Pariente, previous Safari president, has tossed out doing a goblin shark, or maybe a frilled shark, model. That was 6 or 7 years ago, clearly it didn't take for whatever reason).

I see.   Well i might send the Winners to The Email, and explain how each model could benifet them, and there buyers. It may not be what you explained 100%, but I plan on trying to do this yearly. and maybe get better with approaching them.

I started this, because I wanted to see more Sauropods Armored and plated dinosaurs, as well as small ones like the First Bird(i can never spell its name right), but Dan suggested i get support from the forum.

That helps as well-at least if there's some demonstration of even a bit of interest. Keep in mind, though, that the polls may not bear out what you want to request. It's a tough task, one that Safari goes through for every single figure it produces.

I just Want Safari to get a lot of Dinosaur species to collect. not necessarily All Exotic or as many as collectA a  year. I will collect any dinosaur they release, and if my Requested animals are not voted that's fine.   I just hope with Carnegie gone, they can remake some of the animals that were exclusive to the line for the Wild Safari line like the small Feathered animals, and some of the sauropods.

Pachyrhinosaurus

I was looking through your polls and noticed there is not one for terrestrial non-dinosaurs. I'm not sure if it was intentional, but people would probably be interested in mammals or pterosaurs to have a poll like that.

I would absolutely love to see a Quetzalcoatlus sculpted by Mr. Watson. If Cenozoic fauna are also in contention, some phorusracids like Kelenken or Titanis and some ratites like the moa or elephant bird would also be much appreciated. Though they're technically dinosaurs the general public wouldn't associate them as such.

I considered the Cenozoic Birds to be Theropods, and i would of put them in the respective Theropod poll.   Of course that poll is full, so i can not add an other option.

The Pterosaur Thread is up now.   I listed those that were Suggested in this thread before this post. So Quetzalcoatlus is not listed but there is an "other" option were you can suggest it there

Daspletodave

Regaliceratops
Centrosaurus
Albertaceratops
Einiosaurus
Agujaceratops
Anchiceratops
Arrhinoceratops
Chasmosaurus
Torosaurus
Troodon
Daspletosaurus
Albertosaurus
Gorgosaurus
Tarbosaurus
Ornithomimus
Struthiomimus
new Edmontosaurus
Corythosaurus
Brachylophosaurus
Shantungosaurus
Deinocheirus
Dreadnoughtus
and Coelophysis!

Maybe there could be a Cenozoic fauna poll?

I will get to that. Though i included Cenozoic Marine life in the Marine Life Poll.

People Make your Mammal Suggestions here.

John

Mammals, let's see...hmmm...something that would look interesting on shelves or online shop pages that would make the kids scream to their parents "BUY ME THIS!BUY ME THIS! BUY MY THIS!"
How about Uintatherium anceps or
Deinotherium giganteum

or maybe something historically significant like the "dawn horse" Eohippus angustidens
:)
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

tanystropheus

Mammals:

Basilosaurus
Platybelodon
Elasmotherium
Uintatherium
Chalicotherium
Stegolophodon

Shonisaurus

The anceps uintatherium and angustidens eohippus would be two good choices as there are in these two species as drought toy replicas.

Unless it's changed, Safari has had a long-standing rule, for reasons never explained, that they wouldn't be doing prehistoric mammals in the 5" range (the current WS Dinos & Prehistoric Life series). It would be nice, since their first run features some great figures. But so far, nope.

Havent you Heard from Doug Watson?   Those days are over. Its Carnegies Fault that They could not do any more Mammals, and now with that collection gone, Safari can do them again. Just not for a While.

At least thats What Doug Watson Seemed to say

I miss a lot of stuff--my real question is whether Safari has the will to do it. They made a line, and have killed it off. It doesn't seem like they're keen on it (I'd heard rumors and rumbling of the sales...it didn't sound encouraging).

DinoLord

Some Ceonozoic genera I'd like to see:

Deinotherium
Elasmotherium
Kelenken
Macrauchenia
Palaeoloxodon
Sivatherium
Titanis

I just wanted to commend you for all this work. It's an excellent idea and will make a great resource for Safari and perhaps other companies too.

Sometimes a tiny contribution can significantly alter an outcome (Chaos theory and the butterfly effect). You never know but (even if not now) at some point, this work might play a great influence in the development of figures that would otherwise not have been considered.

While Sbell's experience will doubtless prove invaluable to you, and whilst his cautions are obviously given with the best of intentions and are obviously a result of his own hard work, please do remember that, even if some of his earlier suggestions were not taken up at the time by Safari, they may still have played (be playing) an influence. He may have planted seeds that, though they did not germinate at the time, will, in due course (in particular, I'd like to see that amphibian tube - brilliant idea!). And perhaps he has "set it up" so that you, or someone after you can "score".

Finally - Estemmenosuchus!!! and Uintatherium!!!  (and what about  Hylonomus, the earliest known amniote!)

(Sorry to talk about you in third person, Sbell. I hope you take no offence)

I don't. Just trying to throw in a word or two to temper expectations. One thing that has changed is the leadership; new president, new CEO. I don't know what effect this will have (or, I have my suspicions, but I'll just keep it to myself).
