I also went to Officemax saturday and started the process on getting the Triceratops skeletal and skull printed.

Lastly we will have official postcards for sale in the gift shop finally, 2.00 each. I'll post pics when we get them in.  If anyone wants to order some just let me know then. :)

It doesn't look I've done much since last time I know..but it's mostly been shrinking the vinyl to the frame..a time consuming process that doesn't yield much visual reward in pics.

Little too cold to work on the Rex today..well too much snow at any rate. lol

Blade-of-the-Moon

Anyone have an idea as to the range of motion in Protoceratops's tail ?   I'm considering animating one to go with my Velociraptor pack..the head motion is do-able I think..but I wanted to do a tail as well.

Anyone know if the skull shown here : http://www.oucom.ohiou.edu/dbms-witmer/collections/cerapoda/protoceratops_2.htm

Is from a sub-adult specimen ? I'm going off a skeletal scaled to 6' for an adult animal..but this skull seems a bit smaller.

Blade this looks great! With these two shots from the front even without the lower legs done you get a real sense of forward motion, kids of all ages will love it. Will the final piece stand without a forward prop?

I think that's an adult, but not sure.

Looks neat! You should make another one out of metal that little kids can sit on! :)) Of course, that would be a bit hard...

Your work looks great. First, I saw an insufficiency of ceratopsians, but soon enough it will be no longer. Great work, and wonderful species choice. It must be cold over there. Here, the forecast for tomorrow is twenty below, with the windchill. I can't wait to see your big rex finished.

Thank you.  I'm trying to cycle species... theropod, sauropod, ceretopsian, ect..but that formula isn't working exactly...lol  If I get these two ceretopsians done , then I'll need to create a new sauropod ( Amargasaurus,Juv Diplo, Juv Apato ) then a new pterosaur finally..Quetzalcoatlus walking I guess..and/or a Cearadactylus.  Of course those are all members of species we already have.  I do want to create a Nothronychus ..and maybe animate it ( neck, tail, arms. ) .

It hasn't been bad the past couple days..but it's about to get colder I fear.  The wind stops me from doing much on the Rex right now.. :/   It should be done around Feb/March .

Thanks for your comments.

I think the prop is only for support during construction. Correct me if I'm wrong, Blade.

I also agree, this Rex has a lot of momentum, very powerful. I'm really wowed by the model in general. Hope the snow doesn't cause you an problems other than delays.

The prop under the head/neck is exactly that, only to help add more forward support while we're climbing around on it.  The rest will be disguised as trees as they help anchor the whole design. A trick I learned building the Dilophosaurus juv.

Thanks again bud !  I have to thank Scott Hartman ( again ) for the basic design. Though I did tweak the pose a little. I think T-Rex is one of those dinosaurs it's really hard to get wrong. He certainly has some muscle..each calf is as thick around as me ! I was totally surprised by that. Numbers don't mean much to me til I see them put into use..so I'm almost continually impressed.  lol

Rain, wind, snow..all of those make me worried. I'm stressing over a tree currently we didn't cut down but now with snow on it is a leaner.  Basically we've built a house on two legs..there shouldn't be much snow accumulation on him..the curves of the body incline it to fall off. My biggest concern is the tail but I do think we supported it enough to hold the snow that would build up on it..at least I'm trying real hard to believe it.. heh.  I messed my back up good getting that sucker in place I have to tell you. ;)
