Just an idea: you could make half the animal (as in your sketches on the right side), but have it jump 'backwards', like dolphins and whales do, maybe? ;) And have a 'free floating fish' above it's jaws, so it looks like it's jumping to get a treat.
Great progress in any case, I am really curious to see the finished mosasaur!

It's an idea for sure.  My ceilings are going to be roughly 8' tall. So I would get the whole body in there I'm afraid in a leaping pose.

My initial concept for this exhibit was another dark area like the Velociraptor Enclosure with the creatures causing trouble and trying to get you in one spot. The flooring would be reminiscent of a floating dock . to either side the animals themselves.

The whole building is mostly dark , though  I have underwater simulated lighting to add.

I guess the question I'm pondering now is to keep it thrilling with the animals active trying to get at you or just have them " mostly " static to the sides like they are swimming underwater.  Of course there would be only wooden rails..not glass so that may hamper that illusion. :/

Hey Chris, how are the Apatosaurus and Mosasaurus coming along? :) I'm really curious to see those two progress.

Blade of the Moon hasn't posted anything for a while.  Does anyone know anything?

He's probably busy doing park stuff.

Patrx

It's October; I bet he's got a lot going on with his annual haunted house attraction.

Sorry for the worry folks. Patrx hit the nail on the head, the haunt takes about every waking minute I have to keep things going, advertise, manage people, ect, ect, ect.. lol

It's also been doing nothing here but raining for a week. One photographer did stop by and take some pics though :

and not dino related, but the haunt is making money for the Park ..so here is some creepy clown standing outside our entrance :

The apatosaur looks to be going along quite nicely!

Arul

Woww, succes for your project  :)

Thanks guys, yeah Kathy is getting up there..lol We're still taking donations for her if anyone is interested. :)

Shaved the big bulbous muzzle off the snout and skinned her over the past couple days, I put the eyes in and apoxied them last night. I'm thinking of maybe adding a little more tissue over the eyeball to erase some of the surprised look and make the eyeball look smaller. Other than that this head is done and ready for paint/attaching. Opinions?

The anatomy looks good, but I've never seen a black Apatosaurus before.  ???

Always a first time right? lol

Actually the black is just the color of the coating material..any of our dinos start out this way. It gets painted over later, same as with the Apoxie Sculpt.

That's a really beautiful paint job on the Triceratops.  Very natural looking.

Thank you, I received the inspiration from a piece Martin painted up for me..I've heard it referred to as the " Ripe Banana " coloration..lol

Here is a tweak of the eyes:

Don't think we have seen a scenario imagined quite like this, great artwork and it is always interesting to learn a little about the inspiration or story behind illustrations.

I am sorry if my questions have been answered before, but is it expensive to build such models? What material are they covered with to prevent rain from ruining the painting?
