The most difficult Papo Dinosaur to Locate?

We've all at some point as collectors and enthusiasts had our eye on a particular collectable. We've coveted it, we've searched every available means of procuring this collectable; and it remains completely elusive.

For me the collectable that remains unattainable is the 2005 Papo Velociraptor (yellowy brown, now discontinued).

Can anyone else share their experiences of chasing a particularly slippery collectable?

I'm pretty sure that for everyone here except those few lucky ones that already have one, the Running Brown T-Rex remains the most elusive figure. You can still find the Raptor online, on flea markets and even in some stores, but you won't find the Rex anywhere.

I agree with Roselaar. During last August 2 Ebayer (from UK and Germany) sold V1 Papo Velociraptor.
I didn't make any bid because I was bidding on other (more rare) items....
But I never saw an original Papo Brown Running Rex on sale.

Considering that I've had total strangers email me with offers of hundreds of dollars for Roughskull the Brown, yes, it would definitely be that one.

There is an older (but not much...) thread about "hard-to-find" dinosaur figures......   ;)

Yup, you're one of those lucky few I mentioned. Wanna trade your BRT for two V1 regular T-Rexes and three V1 Raptors?  ;D

Saurox

I'm quite new to the game, so I've never head of the brown running T Rex. Still I've struggled to find the 2005 Velociraptor anywhere online. Sooner or later I'll get lucky I suppose.

Out of the green papo rex, allo and brown raptor, guess who I hand picked in store 10 years ago? LOL

Brachiosaurus

Brachiosaurus, I have never seen it in person

Shonisaurus

For me the most difficult to locate dinosaur tyrannosaurus is running brown, or rather vastatosaurus Papo.

Not sold online or in stores.

But have you ever seen a Brown Running Rex in person? That would be ironic.

Viking Spawn

I'd say the Brown Running Rex and the new T-rex & Velociraptor box set.

Personally, it seems that I can never find the Allosaurus, whenever I go to the hospital (the only place around here that sells Papos) its either there when I don't have money, or gone when I do! :angry

Actually...it appears you can. If you don't want to eat or pay bills for the next year or so!!  Seems a bit....excessive....even to me

That is absolute insanity. To me, it's not even worth $100, but that's because I think this paintjob is overrated...

Actually, I wish I had picked this figure up when it was first (briefly) available, so I could have made a killing on it now ;D

Rain

Is that the first time a brown rex has been listed on Ebay?

HOLY MOLY?!!!!  That's got to be a type-o!

And I thought the price I offered for mine was bad enough?!  Now I feel like I got a bargain!

Screw it!  I'm placing a bid!  :P

What a "bargain"!. Now I have to add that to my watch list to see if someone is crazy enough...
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Roselaar

That is an absurd and outrageous price. Nobody in their right mind will pay that much for a different paint job. Or even for an original model, which this figure is not thanks to its green counterpart. ::)
