Got a package from Minizoo today!

Here's Hardbit and Firestreak scoping out Spearhead. Who is absolutely CollectA's best ceratopsian and possible the finest Styracosaurus toy yet, even with the butt fuzz.

Yes, the Regaliceratops is small, but it's beautifully detailed and much better proportioned than previous CollectA ceratopsians.

The Gigantspinosaurus is great too. Fits in nicely with other stegosaur toys.

The styracosaurus is large and perhaps the best ceratopsian distinct from the best triceratops species so far.

The regaliceratops regardless of what is done on a more realistic scale still seems small to me. Collecta every year is reducing more and more the standard figures of its figures, although the gigantspinosaurus is much better than its predecessors thyrophores shown on the screen.

Honestly even if they were not made to scale I would have preferred a regaliceratops and einiosaurus larger, in the style of Safari although they are very good figures being larger the figures are more detailed from the artistic point of view.

Nice :))
So additional comparison photos for those who crave more photos ;)
The Deluxe Styraco is a thing of beauty! I really love this figure, so here she is compared with other figures from CollectA, Safari, Battat, Papo, etc.

Kronosaurs Vs Kronosaurs
These are the big guys!
CollectA and Safari are about the same size, with Schleich just a bit smaller

With CollectA's Pliosaur - they are roughly the same size, although the Pliosaur is slightly smaller of the two figures.

The others

Collecta's Deinocherious- No, I don' thave Safari's version. I'm happy with these guys, and I like the colors much better. Maybe later.

Thats all for now, you can see more of the ceratopsians in my Thundering Herd ( Ceratopsian collection).
Cheers!

Great comparison shots Boki!  I think I'm going to have to get both those Kronosaurs now!  ;D

The warping on the WS toy's flippers is so sad.

It seems a lot of the figures this year has a warping problem from Safari Ltd.

Great comparison shots, thanks!

The new Deluxe Deinocheirus really differs too little from its smaller counterpart, it appears. Too bad.

Thanks Bokisaurus, quite an exhaustive overview!

The above picture in particular shows how Collecta's Kronosaurus is fairly better proportioned. WS version has a slightly yet noticeable oversized head, and the flippers are too small in proportion with the rest of the body. Not to mention the neck, which on Collecta's is shorter and straighter. The only aspect of the Safari's that I prefer is the smooth skin, but not a big deal actually, and still something that belongs to the realm of speculation.

Yes, and given that practically all Kronosaurus figures present that issue it is hardly something that retailers or shipping can be blamed for.

I find your ceratopsians comparison shot really useful, Suspy.

Could someone post a comparison shot of Collecta and Safari Einiosaurus, please?
I'd like to see if they work well together.

I measured the head and overall length of the Safari figure when I reviewed it for the blog, and, barring some error on my part, the head is if anything slightly too short. I used length data from a PhD student's dissertation for comparison, which avoided the errors associated with some outdated mounted specimens. Kronosaurus really and truly had a gigantic head.
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

Is it updated? :

I believe so, yes. Peters seems to be citing the same dissertation I looked at. There are fewer vertebrae than in the Harvard mount.

Thank you. I'm going to be including a shot of the CollectA, Safari, and PNSO Einiosaurus for the review I'm writing. I can certainly say that the size discrepancy between the three is striking. Think of that old fable about the Three Billy Goats Gruff. That's pretty much what it is with these toys.
