I bought Sepp's Giganotosaurus albeit missing a claw, and she was kind enough to send it directly to Martin for me. Martin repaired the claw and gave it some love and this is how Carnegie should have made this dinosaur.

Martin did a great job on this one as always. I never really noticed how skinny the torso on this one is until now...  ???

What a nice diorama base  :o

Most people realize that I avoid collecting theropods. I do not get that into them and most of the " big hitters" that people like most are even this day and age not well understood, in various aspects. Add to that , there are generally a group of fan boys ever ready to announce they have the sole and complete truth how it should look or be, wether feathered, reconstructed properly or how big this or that should be. Dinosaurs should be fun, so I just avoid all of that...If you doubt this, consider the big flap right now about Spinosaurus, wether T-rex was feathered, wether rex as a scavenger, wether rex and triceratops fought often, wether this, wether that......blah.
However I found a theropod I like so I grabbed a group of three and kept one on my shelf stock...sent the other two to Martin for some work. He sent me some review pictures today and I was impressed with the finished work for sure. Does anyone recognize the piece or prey etc?
I find myself doing this more often nowdays with Martin, giving him a small grouping or at least a pair of something for my scene. Have to say he did a stunning job here.

I believe those are the CollectA Proceratosaurus, I don't recognize the prey. I just found this thread, too bad work interferes with my forum time. Great collection even if you don't collect my pieces.

You are correct about which model it is Doug. I do collect your pieces, I just use them for other threads, like my ceratopsians etc. I have three and four of some of your pieces....!

I should have been more specific what I should have said ifs "even if you don't collect my theropods."

That is a more than fair statement , I am guilty of owning very few theropods comparably. I am likely to acquire the Yutyrannus soon though, as I lack much of anything representative of that species in my collection at all.

A beautiful piece! He does look malnourished though! Poor Giganotosaurus!

Oops, I haven't visited this thread for too long. Your Garrattized collection has grown.
:D The Proceratosaurus diorama is awesome! I love it.
I guess the prey was made by Martin himself, wasn't it?

Yes Helge, Martin created the dead prey item for the base on his own . Had alot of people try and guess the identity of the fallen animal, but is a scratch made item done by Martin

For me this is one of the best ceratopsian dinosaurs on the general market.. the detail really shines in the repaint Martin did for me. Awesome figure Doug....I am fond of that base too.

:D Beautiful! Congratulations - another garrattized little treasure for your collection.

Congrats dude! That thing is gorgeous! Looks like a living, breathing Nasutoceratops.

I remain astounded that we live in a time and place in the dinosaur market where we can buy toys...general release figures, that in every way resemble a high end resin model that costs hundreds.

For real though! Whenever I have someone over, the first thing they generally comment on is the eighty plastic dinosaurs on a bookshelf. The next comment, after looking over them a bit, is generally along the lines of "they look so real!" And I don't even have any resins!
It's crazy to think not only of the diversity we're now getting (Nasutoceratops, Monolophosaurus and even a Shunosaurus for next year!) but also the ever increasing quality of the amazing sculpts Mr. Watson, Mr. LoRusso, Ms. Rodgers and others have consistently produced. It's insane and we're just lucky enough to benefit from their talent!

True. But sadly, even though there are tons of good dinosaur/prehistoric models out there, there are still some that refuse to change with the times. Like the Schleichs! :(

That Nasutoceratops is so beautiful though!

Some clowning around as we put together a new display case....the shelves ..top has quite a few Martin Garrat repaints...second shelf has the two capsule Q sets I have, the UHA set, and still needing to find me a set of the Capsule q Marine reptiles. Next shelf has some of my one of a kind models including the Arachaeoceratops diorama, and Yinlong. Next shelf has my eggshell display....and the lowest shelf has some more high end models.

Gorgeous display. I love the glass cabinet.
