Compy and Quetz were not as large as I had been hoping, but that nice big beautiful Theri makes up for it.

While I would have preferred it be larger rather than smaller, I absolutely agree the compy occupies this inconvenient middle-ground where it's not large enough to be any sort of stand-in for a 1:2 prop or such, but also far to large to scale with pretty much anything. The REBOR one has the same issue, though this one is far more screen accurate.

Wonky poses are fun in moderation, then there are the real odd balls  :)) maybe we will get a giga like that?

...like a mating pose for the Giga.

You know what I'll take a wonky pose over it being sculpted by the other artist

Lizerd

Who would this other artist be?
If you wonder where I'm active now, you can find me here- http://www.lustria-online.com/members/lizerd.17772/

Unless I'm mistaken (I don't follow Papo too much), no-one knows  :-\

Lizerd

Oh crap  :o
lets find out who he is  ;D

Well, I have done some digging, after about a half hour:
Nothing. Whoever it is is well hidden. I did not contact Papo for legal and paranoid reasons (imagine going up to someone and saying: Hey can I know who your employees and artists are? and no, that is not a death note I have there)
My guess is he is French and probably a back up artists. Otherwise not much else found  ???

Dirt cheap Papo Quetz 10 dollars less than any other place and more.

Two already sold only one left!

Syndicate Bias

As for that other sculptor. Maybe search the papo database with mr.seo as the main search

Good Idea. I will notify you of results as soon as possible.
Edit: Again no results. These people are well hidden. Don't even have a wikipedia article...  :-\

My acrocanthosaurus is very greyish, like almosg all midtone without much for color.
Also really lacking the wash in amy crevaces
Also it has a shine and feels kind of gummy, anyone else's feel like this?
Is anyone elses like this?

Syndicate Bias

Mine is fine. Not too glossy or anything it's not as red as stock images but it's red nonetheless.  Papo can be....inconsistent with their paint jobs

ibijuro

Thank you, are your Acro's stripes a medium ash brown or a bit darker? On mine it's really a challenge to see the reddish hues. The scaling is also quite smooth as well, especially on the posterior.

I often wonder if Papo switch les to a "more cost effective" manufacturer after the initial run.

Syndicate Bias

Honestly the only stock image accurate acros I've seen have came from kathrins dinoversum YouTube channel which is ripe red and that other German reviewer rupi boltz.

Mine is a bit more colourful than Jurassic Collectables which isn't saying much since it's just a little better than dull. My stripes are more black. Faded black

Lizerd

A red dino? Nah, it would look cool, but seems inaccurate. Try seeking up on someone with a bright red shirt. It just doesn't work, more likely a drab brown or gray with some flecks of color.

Yeah, no way a dinosaur would ever, EVER be bright red...right?
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

Syndicate Bias

I meant the crimson red part of the neck of the papo acrocanthosaurus lol

Lizerd

Oh, I forgot about cardinals  :)) a red neck though, that is probably accurate. I just doubt that it would be all red.

Ahaha, I love this. Especially since avians have some of the most ridiculously amazing color spectrums in the animal kingdom.
Slightly off topic, but could you imagine if a Peacock Mantis Shrimp's color applied to some of the older devonian inverts?

Lizerd

Very easily. Vibrancy is not restrictive.
