I hope this means we will get a therizinosaurus in the next film!
Is just a toy-line-only species, its not even for the JW3 toy line, it means nothing for Therizinosaurus in the next movie.

I wonder if it will show up as a surprise in JW2? Probably not, but that'd be awesome.

Loon

I pray that the pupils are painted well, those circular pupils were a defining feature of the jp3 raptors. Also, enough with the jumping raptor, please.

We'll be sitting in the theaters in June, squealing in delight after seeing all the dinosaurs that weren't spoiled in the trailers.... *wishful thinking*

as for the male raptor - I've said before that I don't mind clown feet on toy dinosaurs but something's off with the proportions of that figure [based only on that lone picture of course].  I do like the head detail - even if it's not very velociraptor.

Yikes...the thought of a pack of clowns , communicating in honks and whistles to eachother, hunting me down in a kitchen to beat me to death with their great flappy shoes...  :o

Only wishful thinking :)

Changing a bit the topic of discussion, more promotional pictures have been revealed for th JP3 male raptor:

Not sure if I like it or not....still waiting for in-hand pictures

IrritatorRaji

Poor little raptor, what have they done to you?!

Those feet though... do they really need to be THAT big to help it balance?

QuoteOf course, release a unique figure alongside an Extreme Chompin rex just to release that figure later on its own....see what you did there Mattel. That being said, I don't know which version of the Monolophosaurus I like better, the green one or this orange repaint...

gah! and I just bought the BD set with the EC Trex. I would have rather purchased this orange monolopho by itself. The Trex is cool but I hate how the neck looks. This new one looks better but I have no idea how big its gonna be, I dont really want a too large T-rex. Fortunately I havent removed them from the box yet so I guess I could just return them and wait for next year.

I was hopng we'd get a parasaurolophus...maybe we'll get one for the Target excl Legacy line next year?

The jumping raptor is the ugliest figure of the entire line, those huge feet are just ridiculous, but it seems like Mattel wants to sell that sculpt in every possible guise. The Therizinosaurus is absolutely pointless, in my opionion. I don't know if Therizinosaurus appears in any JP related video game or similar stuff, but as far as the movies go it is only mentioned as part of the Indominus DNA, according to the JP wiki, so I don't see a proper reason to make it in toy form. Unless Therizinosaurus will have a cameo in FK, but seems unlikely at this point. The last thing a JP toyline should do is turning into a generic dinosaur toyline, it's been like this in the past already, with Kenner and Hasbro, and I think that Mattel should stick to the species featured in the movies, which are plenty.

CityRaptor

Therizinosaurus does appear in JW: The Game, so there is that.

Seems to take cues from various stages.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

And once they have covered all species from the movies what? Keep making the same dinos over and over again? They are not going to restrict themselves to only the movies. Mattel has a valuable license and the most logical thing to do is to try their best to get the highest incomes from it. Adding new species to the mix is one way to do that, besides there is more sources of inspiration than the movies, there's video games, the novels...

Also take into account that Mattel has already made figures of almost every species form the movies, only missing the three sauropods (Brachio, Mamenchi and Apato), the two ornithopods (Parasaur and Corytho), Sinoceratops, and the infamous Indominus.

That was exactly what I was referring to earlier :)
It looks horrid, especially the oversized feet and sadly that seems to be a thing these days.

Even Schleich can do better that's the awkward ironic part xD
I just wish the JP/JW dino's liked like as they are in the actual movies/films, they look nice, feathers or not no big deal since these are sci-fi dino's that should not be a big deal afterall

Faelrin

Well at least this means the JPIII Legacy raptor does have the quills after all, since I was expecting just a repaint of the Story Pack Blue, as was the case for the Legacy TLW Velociraptor. I just wish the color scheme was done right (ditto for the Legacy TLW raptor, but at least it was pretty accurate in the render things, where this one is not). I hope the pupils are round on the final figure too, since crests and quills aside, the round pupils were one of their distinctive traits.

And once they have covered all species from the movies what?

I think that toylines for something specific like movies should stick to what we actually see on screen. They have plenty of options if they use the dinosaurs that appear in the five chapters so far. From my point of view making a JP version of a dinosaur that doesn't appear in any form in the films is pointless. Having Rexy or Blue makes sense, cause they are movie characters, having a JP branded Acrocanthosaurus or Giganotosaurus, for example, makes no sense at all. If I want either of those two species I look elsewhere, I don't need fictionalized versions that are totally made up and don't have any reference in the movie canon. But that's just me.

PhilSauria

I agree - I think that they should stick to merchandising animals and characters from the films. There have been plenty of films now filled with a lot of Dinosaurs so there is really no shortage of subject matter! And I say again; where are the big Sauropod figures?

Tylosaurus

JW:FK has plenty of dino variety to make in to toys, I just hope they will look like as how they are displayed in the films and not something with over exaggerated is size feet or heads for example
But I guess the things we prefer to see won't be given.

Archosauria

I really hope they change that Therizinosaur. It has a lot of potential, it just needs to be tweaked a bit.

Flaffy

I really hope they decide to make a line of mini figures (the size of the blind pack figures) of the small dinosaurs of Jurassic Park that have 1-2 points of articulation.
Dinos like (Pro)Compsognathus, Microceratus, Othnelia, Hypsilophodon, Ornitholestes, Coelurus etc. All cannon in the Jurassic franchise would make some fine mini-figures. Was very disappointed with how they handled Compsognathus and Microceratus.

Faelrin

I think that would be a good idea for those to be minis (with articulation) honestly. I just realized they did that for the Dimorphodon. While the Attack Pack one is okay, it's definitely out of scale with everything else, which means I need to hunt one of those mini ones down when released.

And I also realized the Legacy Collection Pteranodons do scale better with everything else, then the Roarivore one after all. Although the Roarivore Pteranodon probably scales better with the Attack Pack Dimorphodon. Especially if Pteranodon isn't supposed to be much bigger then a person (not taking wingspan into account). So I guess this means I plan to pick up both the Legacy Collection JPIII and JW ones after all (alongside the Roarivores one).

Flaffy

Yeah, I'm really surprised they didn't take advantage of the mini blind packs to make actually small species that are in scale with the rest of the line.
Hopefully in 2019...

Primeval12

Wanna hear something funny? None of the legacy collection humans (Grant, Sattler, Malcolm) encountered a compy in the movies XD!
