Mini Minmi

I hesitated a long time before buying the Indoraptor because I'm not a big fan of it's design and I generally prefer dinosaurs over movie monsters. But I do not regret my decision mainly because of it's posability. I'm having so much fun taking pictures of it doing all sorts of silly poses and expressions and spamming my sweetheart at work to make him laugh. :D
I strongly recommend it to anyone that may be on the fence about it, if only for how fun it is to pose him in 1001 stances.

Out of all the raptors seen so far I prefer the attack pack version of Blue, honestly.

It's not a  bad figure at all, just a  little lighter on detail and paint is all.

The Atroxious

Actually, one of the things that really sold me on the Indoraptor figure was that due to the extensive articulation, I could un-pronate its hands and make it look more theropod-esque. It helps that I'm interested in fantasy creatures as well as dinosaurs (I always enjoyed dragons, fae, and the like), but if I'm going to buy a theropod, even if it's a fictional theropod, I want it to carry its hands naturally! Moreover, because the Indoraptor is fictional, I'm less inclined to have my accuracy sensibilities in general offended since there's really nothing to compare it to.

That said, the more I look at it, the more nitpicks I've come up with for its design. I do like it a lot as a whole, but the shrinkwrapping of the skull bothers me, as well as the fact that the head doesn't look as showy as the Indominus' did. I really liked the Acrocanthosaurus look of the Indominus, especially with the lacrimal crests. Without those, the Indoraptor's head seems too blunt and unfortunately plain. In general, I think it could have used some more scutes and spines, especially on the tail. I love the snaggletoothed look, however, and that more than makes up for the criticisms I have.

To be honest, I would have loved an Indominus figure if there were any good ones on the market. Alas, all we got were those big-headed, short-tailed, unstable, floppy things from Hasbro that looked nothing like the magnificent beast from the movie, so eh, Indoraptor will be my desk buddy.

There is a nice Papo-esque IndoRex  that came with the BluRay Deluxe set.  Aside from that, Mattel has hinted they will be making an Indominus Rex figure, probably in a couple sizes.

Do you have their hints? I'd love to check any place that posts developments of Mattel's Jurassic releases.

I guess that would probably be part of their Legacy Collection, right? Since that's where all the figures that are exclusive to the previous films are being categorized and released.

An EC Indominus would make a perfect trio with the T-Rex and Spinosaurus! I probably couldn't resist to get them. Not to mention that we could recreate the final scene from JW, although the Mosasaurus would look even more massive than the movie version. Considering how super screen accurate are all Mattel sculpts so far I think an Indominus would be great.

Faelrin

I'd definitely be fine with an EC Indominus rex. I just want one honestly, especially since there's a Spinosaurus made.

Fembrogon

I'm not a fan of Indominus, but if an Extreme Chompin' figure was made, I'd be tempted, like others here, for the sake of having a JP super-predator trio.
BTW, did I miss if Spino has a release date yet?

Reptilia

I'm assuming wave two will be out after the summer? The EC Spinosaurus should be the main feature of W2 legacy line.

Wave 2 supposedly in June.   Wave 3 is August/Sept.

So does anyone have a clue about the Destructasaur line? I just saw that there's more images of more things from it on JPToys, but with Toys R US closing has anyone seen any of these in stores?

Went to a local Target and picked up the Carnotaurus. There were two available, one had paint smears and the other had perfect paint apps. They had a Triceratops but there was paint smudge around the horns. Otherwise, it looks screen accurate, especially if you plan on getting it commission painted to JP standards. Plenty of Stegosaurus (the sculpt is phenomenal). A Metria --I tried to pronate the arms but it wouldn't bend in that direction (Nice sculpt, but why is this model hunchbacked?). There were a few EC T-rex  (I should have waited instead of picking up the T&T), it does appear kind of smallish but the sculpt is the same with less seam lines. The basic Pteranodon looks screen accurate (I might just pick up the drone version one of these days). The Pachy looks nice and very similar to the Kenner version. Everything else was kind of meh with some figures looking slightly better (e.g. dilo) than the others. Not impressed with any of the raptors (Perhaps, I've been spoiled by REBOR and Papo?). No signs of the Mosa or Stiggy.

Supposedly its heading to walmart/mexico so maybe walmart here as well?

IrritatorRaji

Does anyone out there own the Carnotaurus? If so, is it possible to move the arms back? Like, their default position seems to be this...

...but is it possible to move them back a bit more so they're placed a little more flatter across the body? Kinda like this?

Reptilia

I think they can rotate 360, no?

mgaguilar

THIS IS A KOHL'S EXCLUSIVE. Geez, they're REALLY making it hard to grab them all.

Faelrin

I have the Carnotaurus and keep the arms pushed back on it. Unfortunately they don't go all the way back in that more accurate position like in that pic. Here's a quick pic of it:

Oh man that red raptor looks neat. Reminds me of the ones that were going to be in JPIII way back in its early days. I wonder what other exclusives they might be getting? Also if Wal-Mart got the Destructasaurs line that would be good for me at least (and other folks with one nearby). I really hope they get out there somehow though.

Cheers Faelrin :) It's not perfect, but it's close enough.
