Hi all, i wanted to share these pictures of a commission project that i have been following since February this year. Its bearing completion and i wanted to show how the model looks like so far. I believe it was 400-450 dollars to enroll to get one and only 15 will be made as far as i know from the fb post. Modelled after Jorge Blanco's Giganotosaurus

Artist is Cen Dao Yi

I had the chance to order a copy and Cen Dao Yi will paint it for me. I will make a review when I will receive it.

Looking forward to seeing the finished product!

It seems that finaly there will be more than 15 copies. Cen Dao Yi told me that he will confirm it to me later. I'll let you know.

Syndicate Bias

Awesome! I wondering they will be $400 dollars as well or maybe a little less. Probably not lol

This is what I paid as a preorder and you're right it's expansive. And then I will have to pay for the painting service, shipping cost and customs taxes :-(

Syndicate Bias

Ooof i forgot about the customs expenses. Geez  that's one of the more expensive kits I'd come across. But i guess its worth it if this is your favourite dinosaur.

Yes let us know please. This model is starting to grow on me, but doubt about the sheer size (and prize  ^-^) of it.
The sculptor stated it will be 60-70 cm long, i wonder how immensly tall the giganto will be?

Syndicate Bias

I like that this particular design has been remade. After jorge blanco retired his for casting issues i was disappointed i couldn't get my hands on it again. I did hear he wanted to come back and do it again but no word for years. Then this came along and it is like a wish come true for me lol. Can't wait to see it once its finished

Mackeral

Yes Syndicate Bias, the sculpt of Blanco is simply amazing, but rather small. Nice to see it redone in almost twice the size.
Are you considering to get this model if there are more copies made or already ordered it?

Syndicate Bias

Im not a fan of models that need standing support but i can't let this one pass honestly. I didn't have the money for it until right after all the spots were full to my disappointment and was too late to the spot that opened up. But knowing now that more will be made I'm definitely getting this one. At least now i know who beat me to it 😂

Good for you  :D
Wait, the model needs support? I thought like his Gorgosaurus model this mabye could stand on it's own with some good pinning in the standing foot.

I wonder if the scale-size is correct, comparing to for example Cooper's Carcharodontosaurus? Both are in 1:20 scale, but the Carchar measures about 55 cm while the Gigant is 60-70 cm.
Looking at this picture the seem about the same size:

I would love to join for an unpainted resin kit

I don't think this model will have a support at all in fact. I have nanatyrannus and soon gorgosaurus made by Cen Dao Yi and both models are on only one leg wihtout support nor any issue. So in my opinion this one will be without support. I will ask that to Cen right now.
