My first acquisition in a while – I decided to grab these while I could, in case they go out of production completely:

One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

I've acquired the CollectA Gallimimus and Phorusrhacos and had their bases removed by Martin Garratt.  They are both amazing figures!  The Gallimimus has some indigo highlights in the tail feathers that I hadn't noticed in the promotional photos of it.  And finally a good Gallimimus!  It's so satisfying!  I'm glad it turned out to be larger than 1:40 scale too, I was hoping for that!  The Phorusrhacos's articulated jaw fortunately doesn't look awkward in person and similarly the exposed hand claws blend in with the forelimb feathers perfectly so I don't need to be concerned about them.  It's so good to have a nice-sized figure of a terror bird.  I'll probably put the Eikoh Titanis I have into my sales thread now, it's very nice but also smaller than I'd like.

Most of CollectA's prehistoric feathered dinosaurs have been awkward in my opinion, but their Phorusrhacos and Gallimimus are excellent and prove CollectA has become among the best at prehistoric feathered dinosaurs.  I'm happy CollectA got here and I look forward to what prehistoric feathered animals CollectA will make next!

Congrats folks!

avatar_Sim @Sim is your Gallimimus able to stand without its base? Would be surprised if it did, its feet are quite small.

Also glad that you finally have a Gallimimus. The wait for it has been long, but thankfully it's over!

Noideaforaname

Stego and Cerat convinced me I needed a HC Allosaurus. Can't say I like the Papo-esque design, but I do like having a Morrison Formation collection.

Faelrin

avatar_Noideaforaname @Noideaforaname It's nice we have four HC Morrison formation dinosaurs now. Man if I get the space again, definitely need these three with the HC Brachiosaurus (and my three Legacy sauropods). Would be nice to see a Dryosaurus at some point.

And speaking of smaller ornithischians, I picked up the Iani, and Edmontonia today. Had to pick up a new fan since my other is clearly on the way out, and grabbed these two as well. Walmart was stocked well, but didn't spot the Torvoneustes or Inostrancevia. I almost grabbed the Utahraptor, but I wanted to nail these little guys first and foremost. Now that I think about it, I ought to pick up the Utahraptor for my review of the Iani, since the two are both from the Cedar Mountain Formation (though I do have the BotM on hand).

Here they are with my little Spaz:

Delisaurus Steven

Due to space and money, I've narrowed down my pickups to completing the Carnegie Collection and anything The Lost World related. I went to Target to hunt for the Hammond Collection tiger raptor and ended up with quite a cartful of goodies!IMG_6057.jpeg
If you're in the US and on the lookout for the Hammond Collection Stegosaurus, make sure you check the stand over by the boy's clothing. That's where all of them were, nothing in the regular Jurassic aisle. Also, Books-a-Million is a great place to look for Bandai Movie Monster series figures!

Finally.

Spoiler
Just got this in, and what can I say, I'm not disappointed. The sculpted detail is easily on par with PNSO – some of the scales on the face are so small that it looks smooth until you take a closer look. The paint application is excellent as well. I'm not really qualified to comment on accuracy, but I'll take the word of those who say it's slightly less accurate than PNSO's Suchomimus. Still, it certainly meets my standard in all three areas, and if Papo can keep up this standard, I can see them becoming a serious challenger to PNSO and Haolonggood on the collector market.

I also picked these up at the same time. Like many people, I've been wanting an accurate Gallimimus for ages, so it's great to finally get one, and the Sarcosuchus goes well with the Papo Suchomimus.
One day we will know the truth about Spinosaurus... but not today.

Found the Mattel Hypsilophodon on a sale and had to instantly grab it, feathered ornithischians are always welcome and even if the design may be partially "inspired" by the one from The Isle it's just really cool looking speculation that I wouldn't have expected from JW

I saw the Iani, Proceratosaurus, Utahraptor, Maiasaura, Nasutoceratops, and Baryonyx also in the B&M I got these from but decided to pass

It can stand without the base but not always.  I took a photo of it standing and elaborated on how it does this in my thread here: https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=11933.msg400265;topicseen#new

Carnoking

A few days into July but whatever, here are my new arrivals from June!

Kicking things off is a Safari haul from their memorial day sale.

I can't even remember if the Saltasaurus, Megalosaurus, and Austroraptor are part of their 2025 release slate or were from 2024 but I'm just excited to have them. The Megalosaurus is quite possibly one of the best dinosaurs they've done since the Carnegie line went extinct!

Also threw in their old Macrauchenia figure and a second Estemmenosuchus to help get that sweet free shipping. I've been eyeing the Macrauchenia for some time even if the trunked appearance has fallen out of vogue, and I always like to have a couple of the permian weirdos*

*Even if they don't always get along on the shelf.

And speaking of, a fellow collector happened upon a treasure trove of Safari Ltd Inostrancevia figures in a gift shop and was kind enough to sell me one at price. Its paint is a lot nicer than the second hand copy I picked up a while back, and it's nice to have one I can look at and not think about how I paid 3x the MSRP to get.

God save the weirdos

Nanmu's Therizinosaurus "Piercing Claw" also finally made it to my shelves nearly 3 years after Dominion's premiere and Nanmu's initial tease for the figure.

And yes, I pre-ordered mine to get that goofy blood gag bonus.

On a similar note, I came across a loose HC Therizinosaurus for cheap. Never opened my first one, so it's nice to have one to pose up!

And speaking of Mattel, June was of course the official release date for their Rebirth line. These might be some of their best mainline releases to date, and it took what little self-control I had not to just load up on everything all at once. I am still holding out for the inevitable sales on their "hero" dinosaur releases but I never like to wait too long on their more standard wave filler releases, especially when it comes to the smaller animals, so I did pick up a few of the immediate standouts.

I'll tell you what though, I'm going to be an absolute fiend for this Inostrancevia.

Then a big one to close out the month on. Even if it feels like their popularity has waned in light of modern competition, I still think these Battat sculpts are some of the best on the market, so when I saw someone practically giving away this diplodocus on eBay and I just couldn't resist. The paint is more vibrant on this later copy, and the tip of its tail is still intact unlike on my first, but it's still pretty scuffed up in places. I guess my hunt for a pristine copy will continue but it's still quite the treat to have one, let alone two of this epic figure on my shelves.

Primeval12

Is that one of my Inostrancevias avatar_Carnoking @Carnoking ?

Monkeysaurus

avatar_Elengassen @Elengassen

Is it really on par with PNSO? I have retired most of my Papo dinosaurs to the closet due to the widening quality discrepancies between them and PNSO/Hlg. They look kind of strange side by side. This suchomimus does look good from the pictures. I may just have to roll the dice and pick one up
Just because I have a short attention span doesn't mean

The good news is, if you receive it and aren't satisfied I'm sure there's plenty of people here who would gladly take it off your hands  :P

Today's acquisitions:

Stygimoloch and the Suchomimus both at Target. Came across a post on reddit about the newest batch of small HC (no idea if Stegosaurus and Spinosaurus are included, but the lack of stock on the latter is concerning atm) are already being discontinued at Target (with proof), despite just getting on the shelves. Suchomimus was on clearance, going for $18 instead of like $24. Good deal, since I had to pass it up the last time when I picked up the HC Allosaurus on my birthday or so. There was also only two Stygimoloch (now one), and one tiger raptor left. I did spot an Inostrancevia today, but opted for the Suchomimus on sale. Still no luck with spotting the Torvoneustes. I missed out on the Dakosaurus, so hope I don't miss my chance with this one. Also out of all the electronic figures, the Utahraptor was completely out of stock there. Not surprised to see honestly.

Edit: I also bought a SSD to USB device. Was able to get my files off my now bricked Win 11 Legion Lenovo 5. More on that in another thread. But man I'm so relieved about that. Sacrificed some of my collecting budget for it, but worth.

Also treated my dad, me, and my mom to some Wendy's. Back to being broke now... but my mental health needed this morale boost for what it is worth.

Fembrogon

A good day makes a world of difference sometimes; hang in there, avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin!

I stopped by Target myself today, and picked up the Hammond Collection Stegosaurus; they had a couple out on an island display with a bunch of other JW figures in front of the regular toy section. It's a lovely-looking figure, although the articulation leaves a bit to be desired.

SidB

I'm really not into articulated figures myself, avatar_Fembrogon @Fembrogon , but, yes, that it a good-looking figure for sure.

PrimevalRaptor

Spotted a bunch of older attack/danger packs on basically 50% off from current prices and while they did have the Borealopelta which seems pretty stellar for a Mattel figure and also the Guemesia...I ended up with the Farlowichnus. It's funny cause even if you ignore that it's literally just a footprint I don't think the trackmaker would look much like this guy but something about it caught my eye.
Do have to say though the textures are great and I appreciate the fuzz.

StickyDan

Haolonggood Euhelopus and Torosaurus arrived  *-*  The Torosaurus is gorgeous - I know the blue version is derivative of the Saurolophus, but since I don't have the blue version of that (I have the brown), I don't mind. And the detail really pops on this color variant.

My Torosaurus actually has asymmetric horns; the right one is shorter and blunter than the left:

I don't think it's intended to be like that; likely a production error, but a quite charming one imo.

Protopatch

Today was an important day in terms of acquisitions.
Not only did I receive two more characters for my Gobi collection :

but I also got a set of 6 superb collector stamps dating from 2000, in perfect condition, for a few euros :

Meanwhile, here is a quick update for the Gobi team :

Close-up (without Therizinosaurus) :

I should be able to post soon again an overall picture of the Gobi collection in its expanded version, including the Bandai's Citipati 8)
