So I may not have a massive collection, but it is pretty heavily painted. As most of them are currently in my studio (a nice corner of the living room) and still drying I have some time to relocate them. So I was wondering if anyone had any tips or tricks on how to make a good display for them that is also good for storage.

I was able to find a nice little display cabinet that was used, for our dining room area. I periodically change figures out as I complete repaints, or get new ones.

I have a shelf above my art desk for the WIPs, and some book shelf space in the bedroom for my "special" sets (mainly Definitely Dinosaurs, misc and JP/JW figures).

That looks good, thanks for the help  :)

Well, I mainly store mine in IKEA's Billy bookshelves. Also got a hanging display cabinet for my Dinotales for 20 Euros.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

That looks... awesome! Thanks for the advice, as not only do I have to store toys I have other crap lying around like battle tech or fossils to store.

If you are displaying things of varying sizes, you can maximize your available space with the use of acrylic risers like these:

They come in many shapes and sizes and can definitely mitigate overcrowding.

Oh good idea, amazon as a company is pretty evil  :-\ so its a trade off between convenience, anyways I definitely will look for those on displaycaseart  :D

Edit:
Random Idea struck me when looking at my Lizards terrarium (no not putting toys in there, he has his seal already), but I remembered in a museum in Michigan I visited a lot as a kid, they had a diorama display case with the toys they had. How about something like that with a terrain and various animals placed in it?

Well, I have a whole thread dedicated to the organization of my collections:

http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=1985.120

The cabinets are all Ikea of various kinds, all of which are now discontinued (which is terrible, because the small ones were perfect for the wall ledges...)

And I will second the use of risers. I have also found that square acrylic organization boxes can work as risers to break up the appearance of a more crowded shelf, and provide more dynamic presentation.

Companies aren't evil. Only humans are (but not by default).

Seems legit, but lets stop this before it gets off topic.
