Hey, what is a Pangolin?

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pangolin

Wikipedia might not be de greatest source of info in general but this will help you to get to know pangolins. They are very endangered, sadly.

Hey, what is a Pangolin?

;D Have you been living under a rock for the last few weeks, you silly simpleton? A Pangolin™ is the brand new designer jacket that's hip and cool with the nobility, yo! ;D

(Pangolin™ is a trademark of Animal Exploitation Inc. who bought the rights to it in 1971, when it's previous owners were conquered.)

Spoiler
(If you actually don't know what a Pangolin is, here you go)

I think pangolins are absolutely adorable.  And I think the inspiration for one of my favorite Pokemon, Sandslash.
I'm excited for REBOR's Acro!  Can't ya tell?

Faelrin

That Pangolin looks really nice. One of my favorite creatures too. I might have to get it at some point.

saw a docu about them on PBS, apparently they are partly endangered b/c of the pet trade in Asia.

They do look good, pretty cute and for a plush it is realistic.

It's not a plush, it's an extra-large plastic figure (all Safari Ltd. toys are made of plastic).

From what I've read, I think the hunting of their meat for food and the hunting of their scales and skin for *sigh* TCM are bigger threats to pangolins than the pet trade (not saying that the pet trade is a non-existent threat).

Oh woops, but plushes often have polyester and flame retardants so I am right,  to an extent.
overall the models still look good.

I hope that pangolins do not end up dying like other species of animals that should continue to exist among us like the alca, Steller's sea cow, thylacino, moa, dodo or the ivory-tipped woodpecker.

Since it's been confirmed several times from Safari themselves that what has been shown so far isn't all they've got in store for 2019,I will leave a few guesses that I'm relatively sure that at least one or two will be released:

Stegosaurus
Allosaurus
Pteranodon
Ichthyosaurus
Albertosaurus or Gorgosaurus ,either one of those
Deinonychus
Utahraptor

I can more or less tell confidently that at the very least one will indeed be real.

At this point,I don't think it's very hard to predict new releases species from Safari, since they are clearly trying to get the species from the Carnegie Collection back again.

The species I mentioned aren't random at all ,if you think it,they are very well known and famous species that were sculpted a long time ago and haven't had an update since them. And now that Carnegie is extinct,Safari may want to bring these "classic" species back.(The "classics" are good sellers ;) )

Now what's up to see is how many of those end up being real this year. Most probably all of the mentioned won't be released this year (that's to understand) but in any case, they may be released next year,or the following  :P

By the way I wanted to write this as soon as possible because since avatar_Dan @Dan from Dan's Dinosaurs has said that the upcoming Safaris will be open to preorden soon, that might be because Safari will reveal the whole lineup soon.

Anyways, has anyone really got an idea on when will the rest be revealed ?They have started unusually early this year ::)

Pd:Probably a recent ,exciting discovery will be incluyed in 2019's lineup just like they did this year with Anzu or Regaliceratops,or Yutyrannus in 2015.For example, Qianzhousaurus would be a good candidate due to its unique look

It would be interesting if they made a gorgosaurus, albertosaurus or Qianzhousaurus. Honestly the tyrannosaurus rex I like to rage but there are other tyrannosaurus species that have very little representation in the market of the toy dinosaur.

I wish that this year was the year of the tyrannosaurs obscure.

Sadly, due to environmental issues they likely will go extinct. Even if we suddenly fixed everything wrong we do, there would still be a dramatic change as it is already in motion. The best we can do is to try and stop further damages, so remember to support groups like safari who care for the environment.

I agree, I also always thought it'd be cool to get a really nice Ornitholestes, which seems to be something of a forgotten species these days.

Please stop using this thread for speculations! It's (only) about confirmed 2019 releases. Thanks!

Sweet Dinosaur Satan, but that Styracosaurus is my new all-time favorite ceratopsid sculpt! The colors! Wow! It strikes that perfect sweet spot of being just about as showy as we know ceratopsians probably were, while not tripping over the line into psychedelic Luis V Rey territory. I don't even care that it's slightly out of scale with my other Safaris, which I only mention because I normally would!

I am also supremely happy we are finally getting a new Wooly Rhino, and that it pairs while with the extant rhino figures! Someone ciritcized its posture, but I for one am glad it's not doing something crazy like the older version. I prefer the more neutral pose which makes it fit that much better with the other rhinos. Pleased to see the mid-section dark patch!

The other figures look really nice as well! I'd buy them all if I had the money. I don't see a single dud this year!

(By Dinosaur Satan, I am of course referencing the silly Topps cards: https://78.media.tumblr.com/5712332c92d7a22c6eb2b3381261ddb4/tumblr_nlwood09y61s2jfn0o1_640.png )

Also, Safari has said that there's a mix between new species and old classics.Just as expected
