So I just remember that Citipati lived alongside Velociraptor. Does anyone know the scale of the Feathered Velociraptor? I'm wondering if the Citipati is supposed to be in scale with it (I was kind of wondering why it was such a big figure when I received it). Now I can only hope there will be a Protoceratops down the road (and in the meantime I still need to get that Velociraptor figure).

The Velociraptor's scale is at 1:9.3
The Citipati's scale is at 1:16.8
So unfortunately, No they aren't inscale with each other.
You have to consider however, that Citipati was a way larger animal than Velociraptor, at about three meters long, it was a whole three feet, 10 inches longer and about a foot taller!

amargasaurus cazaui

so you could say sub adult and adult....

A protoceratops by Safari would be welcome in my case. It is a very undervalued figure and I understand that it is because it lacks horns like the developed ceraptosides. But sincerely do or not a protoceratops (I would be a supporter) by Safari is an emblematic figure in the history of paleontology and one of the best known figures in the paleontological record.

avatar_Joey @Joey Thanks for the insight. I knew Citipati would be larger, but I was not sure of the extant. I'll have to double check the measurements on the Safari Ltd site for these figures, but they might still display nicely together at least. I do hope that if a Protoceratops is made, that it will be to scale with the raptor.

avatar_Shonisaurus @Shonisaurus Well hopefully they'll do one to replace the long retired Carnegie one at some point (and also to go with the Feathered Velociraptor). At the very least I can make do with my Mattel figure to have at least one figure of this genus in my collection.

I think they will display nicely together and as amargasaurus cazaui said, you can have the Velociraptor be a subadult and the Citipati be a fully grown adult.

Having both figures,I can tell that they´re clearly not in scale. The Velociraptor is much larger than what it should actually be compared to the Citipati.
However,I personally don´t mind if the figures are in scale or not with each other, all I want is a beautiful, scientifically accurate model-The rest is icing the cake for me

If you are curious as to how these two figure look together, peek at my collection thread, I h appendicitis's to have a photo of them together... although you will notice a difference  ;)

So I got my new Styracosaurus today. Still had some paint scuffs (a tiny one on the edge of the beak, the very tip of the nose horn, and another spot on one of the frill horns), but I think this one is a bit better with it, especially in regards to the nose horn. Much less noticeable then it was on the other one. Anyways, I took a bunch of images of my Safari Ltd Collection(s), so once my dad gets back home in a few hours (I took them while he was on lunch break), I'll get them uploaded to my collection thread, with one of them here.

Bummer about the horns. They should really have a mask over the face like the saddle under the theropods' legs. (Because our hobby needs to waste more plastic  :-\ )

avatar_Halichoeres @Halichoeres That was my thought as well, with taking into account the warping/curving horns too that it might also help against.

About another hour now before I can get the pics up. I'll just edit this post when I have access to them.

Edit: Getting around to this later then I intended to do so, but here's one of the group pics I took (the rest will be in my collection thread):

Hey there avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin if the paint scuffs really bother you they are pretty easy to fix. I paint my originals with water based Liquitex acrylic paints (sometimes Golden) and from what I remember those horns were pretty much Raw Sienna straight out of the tube. On my original I did a fade from the green to the sienna at the base but the factory went with the straight base colour. I may have mixed some Raw or Burnt Umber with it to darken the sienna a touch but acrylics are easy to deal with since they are non toxic and water based.

P.S. I know it sucks but I have other brands in my collection as well and paint scuffs just come with the territory not like the good old days when I was a kid and no toy dinosaurs were painted they were just the colour of the plastic

avatar_Doug Watson @Doug Watson Thanks for the advice Doug. I'm glad Safari Ltd at least sent me a new one free of charge. My dad has experience with painting model kits so if I can get around to getting the stuff I could have him fix up those spots.

Yeah I guess it's also the risk for ordering online. But that's my only option for getting these figures (outside of some of the older releases that are still available at A.C. Moore and Micheal's, where I got some of them from, like the Dracorex) so it's a risk I've got to take if I want them (and I do of course. I love your sculpts). Guess I know next time I can just ask you how to go about fixing them in the future (if it bugs me enough like on that one Styracosaurus' nose horn). On the other side of things, that might be why I haven't actually run into this at all with Mattel's stuff. They are mostly just colored plastic. I suppose if given enough rough housing the paint could still chip (not that I'm going out of my way to do that though).

So I just preordered the  gorgeous new Safari Allosaurus from Dan.

It´s incredible that ,ever since I was a little kid I have always hoped for an up-to-date, and great looking Allosaurus, and now that moment has come  ::)  It has been so many years I thought that Allosaurus was never going to come ;D

Shonisaurus

According to urzeitshop.de Safari dinosaurs of 2019 the pteranodon, allosaurus, spinosaurus and stegosaurus will be available in the store on March 2019. So it seems that in Europe we will unfortunately have to wait for these figures to be commercialized.  :(

I pass my conversation with Miron:
My question:

"Good evening, Miron:

It is to ask you when you will receive the latest dinosaur novelties from Safari 2019, spinosaurus, pteranodon, stegosaurus and allosaurus.

On the other hand it is to know if in January I will receive the giganotosaurus of Eofauna.

On the other hand I would like to see all the figures when you receive them in your store and buy them (in the case of Safari) send them to me without manufacturing defects, abrasions and the iris of the pupils are well centered. Wishing you a happy day

Sincerely "

Miron's answer to urzeitshop:

"Hello Shonisaurus,

The remaining new Dinosaur figures by Safari are announced for March 2019.

When I receive the Giganotosaurus in January I will send it to you.

Have a nice day
and til soon

Miron"

Dan

I received some photo requests for this new arrival, but something else arrived the same day. Couldn't resist.

Ha! Love it - Kramersaurus!! (Where'd they get the mini set?)

It looks really great. Similar to the Eofauna Giga, it also has some classic Battat vibes going for it.
