And another little update and this time it's a lot more useful than the previous one.

There is finally the filter for your own collection!

It cost me a bit of nerves and is probably written in very poor programming language, but it works ...

Yes, I can see why that would be laborious. In the meantime, I'll just avoid uploading multi-species items  ;D

I'm totally fine with this  ;)

DinoToyCollector

Hey there,

it's been a while and today I present you another update to the website:
I've added the same functionality to the figure/model page which already has been established on the "browse" page.
That means, one can now rate the figure and add it to the own collection directly on this page.
I hope it is helpful.

Besides that, many new entries have been added to the database. It is always worthwhile to stop by  ;D

Halichoeres

That is a very useful function!

Hi Dinotoycollector,
Are you thinking of updating the companies with the models produced by Jetoar? I think they should be added in!
Thanks

DinoToyCollector

I'm glad to hear this :)

avatar_Nimravus @Nimravus
The last companies I have on my list are: SEGA, Aurora, Fauna Cast, Dino Dream & Iron Studios
Today I've added some of the Chronicle Collectibles Items. The list of companies is shrinking but I bet there are far more then I know. I have to search the forum and the whole internet  ;D.

So yes, I am open to add new items. When you speak of Jetoar, you are speaking of Paleo-Creatures, right?

Shonisaurus

I have looked at your website and I can not find the Battat dinosaurs, I mean the vintage figures from the 90s. Could you include them? On the other hand, I would like you to include the figures in the Play Visions collection.

I am a regular on your website but I would like you to include these two companies of dinosaurs and prehistoric animals.

??? There are 23 figures listed from the 90's. Do you mean any other items then the classics from the Bostom Museum? Maybe there was an problem with the connection, so they couldn't load or aniything like that... Here's the direct link https://dinotoycollector.com/Browse/Browse.php?Company=Battat&Line=Boston%20Museum%20of%20Science%20Collection If there are others, then I have no idea of which you are writing of. Could you send me some pictures or links of them?
If you want to, I can of course add The Play Visions collection  ^-^ - it was put on the list

Alright! As soon as I have spare time, I will gladly add these.

It would be wise to note at the different Battat figures for which is which- which is from the Boston Museum line and which is from the Terra series. For a newbie the two different Acrocanthosaurus figures without further note in their names must be confusing (and we didn't talk about the different versions of other figures like the original T-rex).

And in the 90's some of the original figures was reintroduced for a really short period in mini form. Here's the link to their DTB review: http://dinotoyblog.com/2018/04/18/mini-figures-collection-battat/

Oh yes, I've read this review a lot of times! And yes, the miniatures are missing (except for one  ;D). But for the distinction of which series it is, there should actually be no problems. Since some pictures are missing, it is of course a bit more difficult for some figures, but there are still links to reviews, as here to Dinotoyblog, which are very helpful.

edit: Right now, I am wondering where all these images come from  ???

Alright! As soon as I have spare time, I will gladly add these.

Exactly, I was referring to the dinosaurs of this link from the Boston Museum of Battat, I am also referring to some miniatures of dinosaurs from the Boston Museum of Battat, among which was the coveted and highly valued mini tyrannosaurus rex of Battat I passed the link of some of them, they are identical to the big figures:

Great site, seems like this will be very useful! I just started going through it and adding my own collection.

Just FYI, you have a photo of the Battat Dilophosaurus with stand as "Dilophosaurus 1", when the original had no stand (it can barely stand up, which is why it had to be modified). I'm not sure if the one in the photo is version 2 or 3 but it's definitely not 1.

Also, I see you're getting into the different repainted and variants (like the different versions of each Battat mentioned above). If that's the case, I have to point out you're missing a TON of Carnegie Collection figures. For example, the Apatosaurus I have is not listed. You've got the old gray and yellow version and the 1996 green version, but not the 1991 green version which was fully painted (the 1996 versions all moved to colored vinyl). I'd either include both or just list the 1996 one as 1991 to cover both if you want to include fully painted vs. partially painted but with the same color scheme as the same figure, if that makes sense.

Beyond that, some versions are just not represented. You have the second Apatosaurus baby (dark gray with yellow face) but not the original (half gray and half beige with a grey-green face and super rubbery vinyl).

I've been compiling a preliminary list of Carnegie variants here if you can use it: https://carnegiecollection.blogspot.com/?m=1

This is by no means complete and a lot of the pictures are placeholders and need to be replaced or have correct credit added but you probably don't need this detailed a breakdown for your site!

Thanks for the link to the old forum! I will add the minis today  ;)

D @Dinoguy2
Thank you for this very detailed feedback. In a database with 3186 models, you can actually lose track quickly. And again and again mistakes are made. So thanks for the hints at the Battat models :)
Your Carnegie page is perfect! I thought so far that I have been very careful in adding these models and I have missed any models. Today I will take a look at the site and analyze it and compare it with the entries from the database. Additionally I will send you a PM :)

I just looked at the name of the figure and didn't see the tags (while I followed the progress of the site here, I visited the actual site just a few times).

And after Dinoguy's post about the lot of Carnegie versions I think it would be wise just collect the different versions of the same figure in one entry (much less confusing for newbies and at first they are curious about the figures and not about the three or more versions of the same figure).

Yeah when I started building my site I originally had all the variants on separate pages, but quickly realized just putting them all together under whatever year the earliest release was made the most sense, otherwise you need to make decisions about how extreme a variant needs to be to "count".
