75936: Jurassic Park: T rex. Rampage

And some JW-adjacent stuff from the Lego movie:

I rather like that colour scheme; reminds me of the Chaos Effect Velociraptor. I'll probably pick up the smaller set, but I don't reckon I'll review it for the blog. Already done two with that particular figure.

There are rumours that LEGO is continuing the JW line for next year, but no listings or images yet.

If they make a set based on the recent special, there might be a "Baryonyx" ( Indoraptor with a Bary head ) and sub-adult Raptor Squad and T.rex. Also a stand in for Nedry.

Guess who this guy's uncle is.
Of course Lego already missed that oppotunity with the "Indominus Escape", so who knows.

And yes, those color schemes look like Raptor Alpha.  Hmm, seems like both Mini Figures coming with them are voiced by Chris Pratt. And I though the JW line was bad with that. ;D
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark

Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

Hopefully the Triceratops figure will finally receive some more love. I still can't believe LEGO hasn't reused it yet.

I've given up with Lego.
So many missed opportunities and poor design choices.

Couldn't lego have given us a Baryonyx sewer set? Or a volcano stampede set? But guess what, we totally needed a "pteranodon chase" and a "velociraptor rescue truck".

And it's disappointing that the carnotaurus is so out of scale. Couldn't they have made a new medium theropod body, and used it for Bary, Allo and Carno? With the exorbitant prices they charge, they could at least have put some effort into the actual dinosaurs.

Well, looks like there will be a Baby Raptor in the Lego Movie 2 Mini Figure series:

Comes with the character Rex, or as I shall call him: Multi Pratt.

Don't know if this is the right Lego thread for this, but there are some new upcoming Jurassic World sets for next year, with some dinosaurs that haven't been released before!

Very interested in what that pachycephalosaurus sets gonna be like, Lost World themed perhaps?

CityRaptor

Pachy is probably  going to be Stygi with a new head.
Stego would require a bit more. Who knows, maybe this figure can swap parts with the old Triceratops ( wasted opportunity not releasing that one, too )  to become Stegoceratops.

Still no Triceratops? Geez, Lego.

The prospect of Baryonyx and Stegosaurus are exciting though!

Thanks for the additions, guys, I'll add them to the first post!

By the way, it was officially confirmed back in October that LEGO would be continuing the JW line. So even if those entries above are fake, there is something in store for this year! :)

So... uh, why does the Baryonyx have a sickle claw? That's a new low for Lego.

Because it's reusing the Indoraptor legs, and I think the Indominus rex arms.

Which is all the more annoying since they apparently felt the Dilophosaurus needed a whole new mold all of a sudden.

suspsy

LEGO has always been about reusing parts whenever and however they can. Those sickle claws do look bad, though. I'd have been willing to pay a little more for that set if it meant brand new legs. They also would have opened the door for yet another medium-sized theropod figure like Allosaurus in the future.

And yeah, surprising that they made an entirely new Dilophosaurus figure. I love the souvenir stand and the fact that Owen is piloting a giant drone.

Brickset has posted additional images of all four sets:

Looks like that Stegosaurus rumour was just that. Pity.  :(
