Just finished rewatching S4 & wanted to share more of my thoughts before S5:

This scene is sorta Deus ex Machina-y, but awesome nonetheless: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XS9VvKyNtJw

The Bumpy scene reminds me of "Jurassic Bark": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AK3PWHxoT_E

Yaz's character development is the highlight of S4. I especially like 1) her gay panic look when being complimented by Sammy in ep1 (0:25: https://it-fits-i-ships.tumblr.com/post/672606756064690176/combing-through-every-single-episode-of-jurassic ), 2) her eyebrow raises throughout ( https://tenor.com/view/jurassic-world-camp-cretaceous-season-jwcc-yaz-yazmina-camp-cretaceous-gif-24085442 ), & 3) her confident head shake when being complimented by Sammy in ep11 ( https://campbumpy.tumblr.com/post/670306673897963520/even-brooklynn-knows-that-yaz-at-sammy-like-each ), which shows how far she's come since ep1.

We all know that Kash is gonna get his comeuppance eventually. What I'm wondering is how. I'm thinking either 1) via Velociraptor b/c he antagonized them w/invisible fences & golf balls, or 2) via Spinosaurus b/c he put it in the desert biome & told Darius to chip it.

Before S4, I was indifferent to ships w/the 4 single campers: For 1, any combination of Darius/Kenji/Brooklynn seemed equally plausible; For another, Ben seemed more in love w/Bumpy than anyone else. Now, I have to admit that Kenji/Brooklynn are surprisingly cute together. Also, I'm glad they didn't do a "Love Triangle" like some fans thought b/c that's 1 of my least favorite tropes. "Liar Revealed" is probably my #1 least favorite (which is partly why S1Ep6 is so hard for me to watch).

I figured the JP Dilophosaurus was defending its territory from (rather than hunting) Nedry, but it's good to have hard canon support for that in Ep11. Also, while I still prefer the real Dilophosaurus ( http://web.archive.org/web/20201216232515im_/https://static.scientificamerican.com/sciam/assets/Image/2020/saw0121Mars31_pan_and_zoom.jpg ), I like the idea of the JP/JW Dilophosaurus living in small territorial flocks that call to each other constantly.

No Sarcosuchus in S4. Maybe in S5, presumably in the Swamp Biome. If so, it'd be kind of amazing if CC's Sarcosuchus scenes had a musical reference to the Tic-Tock scenes in Disney's Peter Pan: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNiJ8VpNOgw

I've said this before, but it bears repeating:
-S4 is, at its core, pretty on-brand for a Michael Crichton-based story (I.e. All his stories are basically about humans trying & failing to use science to control what they don't understand; In fact, the original JP is basically Westworld w/GMO dinos instead of robot cowboys). I get not everyone likes seeing the JP/JW franchise progress in that way, but to claim it doesn't fit/make sense for the overarching story despite all the progressions that preceded it (E.g. JWFK's human-cloned Maisie & laser-controlled Indoraptor) is just plain nonsensical/inaccurate.
-On a related note, it's hard to take ppl seriously when they claim that S4 "jumped the shark"/"is a bridge too far", yet excuse JWFK's lava-/pyro-proof Owen & 4th-wall-breaking Indoraptor.

Trailer for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Hidden Adventures; coming November 15. Is the Tyrannosaur in the Trailer a Tarbosaurus? The spikes and the pronounced brow crests remind me of Jurassic World Alive's Tarbosaurus design and the spikes also remind of Mattel's Tarbosaurus. Nice to see new species. The "You choose what will happen" concept reminds of the Jurassic Park Game by Telltale Games.

Mattel's Tarbosaurus also had spikes. Must be some weird recurring theme or coincidence. I wonder if they'll do a repaint of it for that in next year's line?

That said this looks interesting, especially since it is a choose your own adventure type thing.

Edit: Here's another image of the possible Tarbosaurus. Do like the coloration, even though it appears pretty similar to the Ceratosaurus. Is it just me or do the arms look pretty short here (length wise) compared to the franchise's longer armed T. rex?

Indeed, another feature which suggests that this may be a Tarbosaurus. Looks like a modified T-Rex. But this is understandable; T-Rex and Tarbosaurus really looked alike. Yet another cool, spiky theropod in the franchise.

CityRaptor

The Tarbosaurus in Jurassic World Alive has spikes, too. Colors remind me of the Red Rex.
Jurassic Park is frightning in the dark
All the dinosaurs are running wild
Someone let T. Rex out of his pen
I'm afraid those things'll harm me
'Cause they sure don't act like Barney
And they think that I'm their dinner, not their friend
Oh no

So finally got around to watching S5. I got like 3 episodes left, plus the Tarbosaurus special thing. Some thoughts below the spoiler:
Spoiler
Overall I've enjoyed this season more then S4. Sure there's still a lot of the jank from the last season but it's less a focus. Most of it seems to be on Kenji and his relationship with his father, and the kids feeling betrayed. It's got depth to it at least (maybe more then all of Dominion even). Least we get to know what happens with Bumpy, etc (since she was missing in Dominion, like not even a live action cameo shockingly. Talk about a missed opportunity), when it comes to the eruption in FK, and also when Biosyn came into play post JW (including how Dodgson got the Barbasol can back). As much I wasn't a fan of the latter two films, I appreciate the show trying to give more context to what was going on since they didn't really do a great job (more so Dominion). Glad to see Bumpy get off Isla Nublar, and I guess Toro, Limbo, etc. I wonder if this means Chaos is the poor Baryonyx that died in FK or is that another one? I didn't notice it when the rest of the species were brought to Mantah Corp island.

It looks like they took the geothermal power thing from the books, which is what Manta Corp island uses. Can't remember if that was mentioned in JW or FK prior? I wonder if that plays into Isla Nublar's volcanic eruption in FK, or if the stuff going on in this season is merely a side effect because of being tied to it? Still have to finish the season, so guess I'll see how it plays out.

What really impressed me the last episode I watched was we got some LGBT+ representation, with both Sammy and Yaz coming out to each other. I feel like it was building towards this for a while now, but I wasn't sure they would ever go in this direction fully, like maybe they were just close friends, especially after Yaz saved Sammy's life in S3. I feel like they did a really job with it here. It doesn't feel forced and last minute. Honestly I'm really surprised to see this in a "kids show" as well. Despite all the hatred going on in the country (if not the world) aimed at folks like myself (I mean I'm an asexual trans man, definitely not lesbian lol, but still way too much bigotry and stripping of our basic human rights), it's nice to see shows bold enough to do stuff like this, and in a major media franchise like Jurassic. We need things like this out there to counter the hate, and show there's nothing wrong with being the way we are. We may be a minority but there's no reason we shouldn't be treated the same as cisgender heterosexual people. I know it was intended for Zia to be lesbian originally, but that sequence was cut, and if I recall right it was stated that Kayla in Dominion was bisexual, although I don't think that really came into play in the film, so this is really the biggest move they've made towards representing us in this franchise so far.

I finished the last three episodes late last night. Can't believe how many years this show's been on for. Granted this season came out like last year I think, but yeah that's still like a 3 year runtime from when it started in 2020.

Now some thoughts:
Spoiler
Really liked that sequence with Ben helping Bumpy get out of the mind control. Gave me HTTYD2 vibes. Honestly their bond, and growth reminded me of Hiccup's and Toothless from the start.

Of course they had to have an obligatory JPIII rematch. Even though Big Eatie didn't die, I think it would have hit heavier if she did. But well none of the "hero" dinosaurs have died so far, only the Indominus, Scorpios, their victims, and Grim from what I recall.

The ending was good I think. They were obviously going to go home, but I was curious about what the aftermath would be like after they spent all that time together. Glad Ben was able to revisit Bumpy too. Overall I enjoyed this season more then S4. I'd probably rank it S3, S2, S1, S5, and S4, more or less.

Forgot to mention this in my last post, but I really enjoyed the Nothosaurus, despite its brief showtime, even if the real animal was probably more full on marine then amphibious. While there are those of us that were familiar with this creature long before, one could certainly say this was probably an obscure pick, and will help give it some more exposure. Design wise I don't think it is half bad either.

So for the non spoiler stuff. Honestly I was really glad we got a bunch of new creatures in this show. Kentrosaurus, Monolophosaurus, Nothosaurus, Ouranosaurus, Smilodon (and Tarbosaurus) were all good picks to add to the franchise. Great additions for JWE2 and the figures too of course. Too bad we don't have figures of the new Tarbosaurus design (though similar to the prior toy, which after the Monolophosaurus, Dimetrodon, Quetzalcoatlus, is the fourth species that had a figure prior to getting a canon design), or the Smilodon still, and neither those or the Nothosaurus are in JWE2 yet either.

Nothosaurus for me was the most exciting addition to the cast in a while, that is until Dominion introduced Lystrosaurus and Dimetrodon. Love me some non-dinosaur prehistorics. Personally hope to see an HC figure of this someday, the mainline one's puny tail and bobblehead irks me a bit.

The following is from "My dino media wishlist" ( https://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=9979.0 ).

QuoteA "Camp Cretaceous" sequel series/movie that takes place post-S5/"Fallen Kingdom": This quote from Gizmodo's review sums up my biggest problem w/"Jurassic World: Dominion" ( https://gizmodo.com/jurassic-world-dominion-review-chris-pratt-laura-dern-j-1848883641 ): "The locust thing might even be okay if the whole movie was about it. But the film opens, and closes, with hints of what a unified world blending dinosaurs and humans could be. In fact, the last few shots of [JWD] are excellent and make the previous two-plus hours seem small by comparison. By shoving these ideas awkwardly into the film's bookends, Trevorrow seems to be admitting he knows that's the movie this could have been. But instead, he tricks you into thinking it's about that by starting and ending there. The whole structure feels awkwardly slapped together." Even w/my already low expectations, JWD ended w/me feeling very unfulfilled in a way that was hard to explain until I read said review. In contrast, S5 is a very satisfying conclusion to CC in particular & JP/JW in general, tying everything up & feeling complete, especially w/Yasammy ( https://it-fits-i-ships.tumblr.com/post/659914337944780800/updated-the-yasammy-video-clip-compilation-and ). W/that in mind, I won't be upset if we don't get said sequel, but I'd still love to see more of JW's best "characters in general" ( https://www.deviantart.com/jd-man/journal/SD-My-favorite-aspects-of-Camp-Cretaceous-882741250 ), especially in said "unified world".

Blade-of-the-Moon

We do have a new animated series coming, but not many details. I doubt it will continue CC though.

Faelrin

H @HD-man After finishing CC yeah I basically have a similar sentiment. I enjoyed the series overall far more then either FK or Dominion. The weakest was still S4, and I probably would rate it among those films.

avatar_Blade-of-the-Moon @Blade-of-the-Moon I recall seeing something about that. Wasn't it for that new toddler line of toys revealed earlier this year?

Prehistory Resurrection

Sequel to Camp Cretaceous coming in 2024;
The events in the sequel take place post Fallen Kingdom.

Blade-of-the-Moon

I enjoyed the last series of CC so I'm glad it's coming back. I was afraid it was the preschool type show that was talked about before.
