I watched your videos for the first time today and really like them. I always love collection videos!

Thanks! I wasn't planning on doing another collection video any time soon, but then I saw somebody do their Safari collection all lined up and grouped by year in order to show the evolution of the brand, which I thought was really cool and might do something like that soon...

I think I have the chocolate brown version of that Pteranodon somewhere... Maybe they were more common in Europe?

Likely. I had acquired mine from Germany.

Do you happen to remember when you got it? Based on the tag style I assume it was one of the 2007 repaints but it's weird that it never shows up on lists or even in catalogs. I wonder how many other cryptic repaints that didn't achieve wide distribution exist (still not sure about that blue Apatosaurus I posted in the ID thread...).

I've been adding most of my new acquisitions to my site, but I figured I'd post some of my growing collection of old school Carnegies.

Carnegie Parasaurolophus, first generation variant.

Carnegie Allosaurus"catalogue version". Love this one, very old school.

Two of my favorite Carnegie Stegosaurus variants: first generation and third generation (white plate version, closer to the photography mock-up).

First generation Apatosaurus. I prefer this to the more well known second paint scheme. This one is straight out of a Zallinger mural.

And her little ones. I always wondered if the adult and baby Apatosaurus in this line were inspired by the movie Baby.

My first generation T. rex has seen better days... Need to get a cleaner sample one day.

My first "museum quality" replica, bought at a little garage hobby shop in 1989 when it was brand new. The paint application on these really took a nose dive in the 90s.

Original Pachycephalosaurus (right) vs. a later released version. You can see paint application quality and complexity decreases over time as they give priority to newer figures.

Older (right) vs. newer Deinonychus

And Protoceratops...

...and Elasmosaurus (newer on top, original on bottom).

Your overall project is of great value at a time when, caught in the flush of excellent new releases, it becomes all too easy to forget about the past. Awareness of what has preceded the current generation opens up a needed appreciation of both past and also the present. You are supplying this with your in-depth study of the Carnegie line.  I, for one, have found my interest in this venerable, old series to be revived. Thank-you.
