Safari Ltd. Wants Ideas for 2021

Halichoeres

Some great ideas here! I especially liked Cacops, Cynognathus, Ophiacodon, Globidens, and the pterosaur Toob. My suggestions were:

Rhizodus
Styracocephalus
Permian life Toob

I don't expect any of those to get made, but it's worth a shot!
In the kingdom of the blind, better take public transit. Well, in the kingdom of the sighted, too, really--almost everyone is a terrible driver.

My attempt to find the best toy of every species

My trade/sale/wishlist thread

Sometimes I draw pictures

Shonisaurus

I wish a Lambeosaurus from Safari 2021
A 2021 Safari dakosaurus occupying the vacant place of the plesiosuchus.
A moschops from Safari 2021

I understand that the only figure that Safari would do in the best case in 2021 would be the lambeosaurus is the most reasonable for a toy brand as long as it exceeds its Invicta counterparts and that of the beloved Bullyland brand unfortunately, since missing

Alright so aside from what I suggested already (though may be mentioned again), I think I'm going to compile the species that have yet to be made from my previous posts in the 2017, 2018, and 2019 hopes and dreams threads here:

I'll hunt for the 2017 wants list tomorrow (edit: well it was late 2017, around the time of the reveals for 2018), assuming I can find it (worst case scenario I'll dig through my 90+ pages of my post history). I'll also expand this with my additional wants for 2021 that have yet to be made, though most have been covered below. I decided to also add the ones I requested which did get made and I'll have a strike through those with the year they were made. Those lists will be below a spoiler:

Spoiler

For 2018? (new for Safari Ltd 2018) http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=6016.msg181289#msg181289:
Allosaurus (2019)
Carnotaurus (2019)
Cryolophosaurus
Dilophosaurus (2020)
Dimetrodon (2018)
Spinosaurus (2019)

Which I expanded in this post here (Safari Ltd remake): http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=6131.msg181348#msg181348

which included:
Triceratops (2018)
Stegosaurus (2019)
Styracosaurus (2019)

All of those except the Cryolophosaurus have been remade by now.

For 2018 (hopes and dreams) http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=6042.msg178891#msg178891:
any eurypterid
Diplocaulus
Hallucigenia
Koolasuchus
Megaloceros
Moschops
Tanystropheus
Tiktaalik
Tully Monster

Which I expanded in this post here: http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=6042.msg179470#msg179470

which included:
Allosaurus (2019)
Carnotaurus (2019)
Cryolophosaurus
Protoceratops
Regaliceratops (2018)
Stegosaurus (2019)
Styracosaurus (2019)
Triceratops (2018)

For 2019 (hopes and dreams) (http://dinotoyblog.com/forum/index.php?topic=6387.msg189712#msg189712):
Allosaurus (2019)
Baryonyx
Carnotaurus (2019)
Deinonychus (2020)
Corythosaurus
Kentrosaurus
Lambeosaurus
Mosasaurus
Ouranosaurus
Pachycepahalosaurus (2020)
Pentaceratops
Protoceratops
Pteranodon (2019)
Stegosaurus (2019)
Styracosaurus (2019)
Utahraptor
[close]
So here is all of those I have suggested or wanted previously, that have yet to be made:
any eurypterid (perhaps better included in a Paleozoic TOOB, which would good to include simplified and/or smaller versions of their Dimetrodon, and the retired Inostrancevia and Scutosaurus additionally too)
Baryonyx
Corythosaurus
Cryolophosaurus
Diplocaulus (good choice for a TOOB figure too, if not a standalone one)
Hallucigenia (same)
Koolasuchus
Kentrosaurus
Lambeosaurus
Megaloceros
Mosasaurus
Moschops (would also be nice as a TOOB figure, in addition to a mainline figure)
Ouranosaurus
Pentaceratops
Protoceratops
Tanystropheus
Tiktaalik (could also be a good choice as a Paleozoic TOOB figure, alongside Ichthyostega below, if not in a Safariology set depicting the evolution of early tetrapods)
Tully Monster (also would be a good TOOB figure choice)
Utahraptor (I submitted this one)

So in addition to the above, and the other two I submitted (Borealopelta, and a Cockatrice for their fantasy figure line), I would also like to see:
Anchiornis
Dakotaraptor (edit: how did I forget this one?)
Edaphosaurus (would also be nice as a TOOB figure, in addition to a mainline figure)
Eoraptor
Estemmenosuchus (same as Edaphosaurus here)
Hatzegopteryx
Herrerasaurus
Heterodontosaurus
Ichthyostega (could also be a good choice as a Paleozoic TOOB figure, alongside Tiktaalik above, if not in a Safariology set depicting the evolution of early tetrapods)
Plesiosaurus
Shuuvia (which has more complete remains then Mononykus does)
Tarbosaurus
Therizinosaurus
Thescelosaurus
Titanis (or another terror bird)
Titanoboa
Zuul
Zhenyuanlong
Yi qi
and any species of ornithomimid (such as Gallimimus, Ornithomimus, Struthiomimus, etc)

Figures I think could be remade (that were not posted above):
Acrocanthosaurus (would really be nice to have one more to scale with their current Tyrannosaurus and Giganotosaurus)
Brachiosaurus
Deinosuchus (to have alongside the Sarcosuchus, and replace the long retired Carnegie one)
Gorgosaurus
Plateosaurus

ZoPteryx

I submitted Tiktaalik, Plateosaurus, and...... Giant Oarfish, just to shake things up.  ;)

MoarCrossovers

I submitted Vallibonavenatrix, Nanuqsaurus and Herrerasaurus.

Stuckasaurus (Dino Dad Reviews)

My suggestions:

Ouranosaurus
Pterosaurs Toob
Permian Toob

Albertosaurus/Gorgosaurus(hope for both of them). Two underrated species, and not so similar to t rex(as tarbosaurus and daspletosaurus) or recently revealed  qianzhousaurus(as alioramus).

Teratophoneus - another underrated tyrannosaurid, but i doubt it would have good sells because of obscurity of taxon.

Centrosaurus - it's just a shame that there are no good models of this classic ceratopsian, while we have some fragmentary and speculative ones.

Chasmosaurus - same. Hope thats if it would be realeased, it would be based on specimens with rather short horns to be not very similar to Collecta's mercuriceratops.

Majungasaurus - interesting abelisaurid, sadly Collecta's one is inaccurate and Vitae  one have a limited circulation.

Edmontonia - truly great nodosaurid, it would make a nice company with Safari's sauropelta.

Zuul/Scolosaurus/Euoplocephalus - we have not much figures on non-ankylosaurus ankylosaurid. Good to hear that i am not only one who wants it.

Corythosaurus/Lambeosaurus/Hypacrosaurus - any of this trio. Olorotitan and tsintaosaurus are surely more bizarre, but they lack enough neighbours in their known habitat, so North America's lambeosaurines are better for making a diorama.

Maiasaura - old, retired figure needs to be replaced. Hope the pose would not be nesting or very crouched, i like more universal choices.

Moshops - good therapsid to make. Personally i like his relative, ulemosaurus, more, but its too little-known among people that are not diehard therapsid fans.

Kentrosaurus - nice buddy for stego and only well-known to common people besides it.

Voted gorgosaurus, centrosaurus and zuul.

Smilodon P.

My suggestions:
Yi Qi
Halszkaraptor
And
Mapinguari (fantasy)

Now that Safari has revealed all of their prehistoric figures for 2020, I wonder if this thread will effectively become the '2021 Hopes and Dreams' thread?

I say we hold off on that thread until Dec. 31, just because it feels too early right now.

Seconded. Besides, there's plenty of room for that sorta talk on this thread here already:

I just want safari to use the color blue.
"Boy do I hate being right all the time."

Newt

Apologies if this is an inappropriate place for this, but I'm curious as to how much say Doug and the other sculptors have over which species are made. Does Safari make all the decisions, or do you have an opportunity to make your own suggestions?

Anyhow, while I'll be happy with whatever prehistoric animals Safari chooses to make, I'd love to see the following:

Cervalces
Rhizodus
Purussaurus
Melanorosaurus (or really any non-Plateosaurus prosauropod)

triceratops83

In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

Anyone else vote for Alamosaurus?

I did.  I need to complete the Rex, Alamo & Quetz diorama... even if the Alamo can't be an in-scale full sized adult.

triceratops83

I'd love an Alamosaurus to go with my Doug Watson Hell Creek assembly. Then I'd have a Maastrichtian lineup of the five major groups - Theropod, Sauropod, Ornithopod, Ceratopsian and Thyreophoran.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

terrorchicken

thylacosmilus, recenlty extinct toob, sphinx

I was so confused about all the votes for zuul, why so many wanted the hell dog from the Ghosbusters. Didn't know it was its also a dinosaur, lol(thanks Google).  :))

The Atroxious

I suggested:

1. Old world vulture such as Gyps or Torgos

2. Therizinosaurus

3. Limusaurus

Shonisaurus

I understand that Safari could do:

Caudipteryx

Beipiaosaurus

Tanystropheus

A reissue of these three Carnegie figures would be highly interesting.
