Gothmog the Baryonyx

That Protoceratops looks nice, I would be interested in it if were to scale with the Safari Ltd Velociraptor, or much smaller.

I pass you photographs of the lisowicia bojani of Collecta and an article about that strange mammalian reptile of the dicynodontia species all of everythingdinosaur. I pass the link:

https://blog.everythingdinosaur.co.uk/blog/_archives/2020/02/18/in-praise-of-a-polish-giant-lisowicia-bojani.html

For now it is the best prehistoric non-dinosaur animal made this year by any brand of toy dinosaurs. It remains to know what animals PNSO, Rebor or Eofauna will do to give three examples. It looks spectacular! Hooray for Collecta! It is one of my favorite prehistoric animal brands.

By the way the painting of lisowicia bojani is among many other things in the figure of what I like most.

PrimevalRaptor

The paint sadly doesn't look as good as the prototype (but I guess that happens) and it looks a bit too glossy imo (might just be the lighting conditions?) but the model in itself is still really nice, the seam also doesn't seem too bad.

The Tyco one might suit your needs.

Concavenator

The Protoceratops is ok, but I'm not a fan of the dark coloration around the eye, it makes it look as an animal that hasn't slept in weeks. I prefer Wild Past's version, it is more elegant and beautiful.

And the Lisowicia is still my favorite of the new CollectAs. A total gem it is, even more so than the Edaphosaurus.

ItsTwentyBelow

Oh, nice preview of that Lisowicia. Having just bought the Edaphosaurus, I certainly want this (even though the animals are not close relatives).

Looks like it will be close to 1:35 or 1:40 scale.

Shonisaurus

Lisowicia Bojani is a true work of art in PVC (toy) and is sincerely sculpted meticulously judging by the images of the prototype. The painting is nice and I think it is on the same level of genius as the edaphosaurus.

The only defect I find in the figure is that the seams are noticed a little due to its articulated jaw. In the initial prototype that defect was not appreciated. Anyway, it may be the best non-dinosaur prehistoric animal by the Prehistoric Times magazine although it has competition with other brands such as Safari or Papo sincerely that figure fascinates me a lot. It is a nice and awesome figure.

Flaffy

Wow, absolutely fantastic. The very first widely available dicynodont figure to my knowledge? And what a great figure to start the trend off of.
The brown on the underside and feet are a little heavy-handed not gonna lie, would've preferred a lack of that muddy brown myself, but one could just assume it's been waddling in mud.

At least this time the colour scheme doesn't make the figure look like a dollar store chinasaur *cough Estemmenosuchus cough*.

GojiraGuy1954

why did they give it an articulated jaw? it kinda detracts from the figure. but i'll still buy it, i'll just keep it closed.
Shrek 4 is an underrated masterpiece

Shonisaurus

avatar_GojiraGuy1954 @TheRealSpinoRex I usually close the jaw of prehistoric herbivorous animals as well because in this way the figure does not occur. The only prehistoric animals that I keep the jaw open in any case are carnivorous theropod dinosaurs.

It is a personal opinion that I have commented many times but I would like the prehistoric animals and among them the dinosaurs to be less articulated, I like dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals in one piece but that is a personal opinion and I recognize very unpopular among my DTF partners and members. I respect him but I would like them to be the most equitable dinosaur brands when making prehistoric animals with articulated jaws and also prehistoric animals without articulated jaws or other parts of the body. It would be a Solomonic solution that satisfied both tendencies.

Although I must admit that fortunately not all Collecta prehistoric animal figures are articulated.

Faelrin

I think it's a little too glossy, but otherwise I quite like it. I actually think the dark brown on the feet and belly and bottom jaw is fine, since it does look like it was resting in mud earlier (which there is a surprisingly lack of figures of animals depicted in this manner, although granted I don't know how often an something of this nature would have done it in comparison to modern megafauna).  This is definitely a must have (as it was before). I do hope we can also see a figure from CollectA of Placerias, if not Safari Ltd. It is kind of surprising WWD didn't give it a boost after all these years. I always did like them on account of how strange they seemed to me at the time (partly the tusk and beak combo), as they certainly were not dinosaurs, and I was only just starting to learn of what came before them. Lystrosaurus would be another interesting choice as they were pretty common in the early Triassic, and survived the P-T extinction. Anyways I am still very glad to see a figure of Lisowicia so soon after its discovery, and at this point I may as well take whatever dicynodont I can get my hands on quite easily.

The first batch of dinosaur figures and prehistoric animals of Collecta will be marketed in a matter of week in the everythingdinosaur store on the other hand I pass that article where he comments all that and where he shows us the protoceratops of Collecta that is much better than I I would have imagined having the small video made by the brand pass the link:

https://blog.everythingdinosaur.co.uk/blog/_archives/2020/02/25/collecta-deluxe-protoceratops-video-preview.html

The collecta protoceratops figure far exceeds its UKRD counterpart although it must also be borne in mind that the UKRD brand is a brand of more than thirty years and the UKRD figure is a toy.

triceratops83

In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

nice... according to Wiki this guy was preyed on by an archosaur called smok. It be cool if Collecta makes a figure of that to go with Lisowicia. Btw, smok is the coolest name Ive ever heard for a prehistoric creature. 8)

why did they give it an articulated jaw?

Playability maybe. As a kid I would have liked all my animal toys to be able to bite down on something.

The articulated jaws of prehistoric animals are great for children, but in my case for a collector like me, they are honestly not entirely to my liking, although they don't dislike me, I wish there were more prehistoric animal figures without articulated body parts (it is a personal appreciation), but I understand the commercial philosophy of the various toy brands in this case of dinosaurs and other toy animals although I don't share them.
