Thanks for the pics Blade! The new CollectAs look nice!

avatar_Blade-of-the-Moon @Blade-of-the-Moon The bajadasaurus and protoceratops look brutal, the baryonyx a little lackluster with that head painted yellow. Especially the Bajadasaurus is a must-buy figure. Thanks for the photos. I really like the figures of Collecta 2020 especially the herbivores are dinosaurs very well done especially their bajadasaurus is by far the best of the figures with the baryonyx being its weakest figure.

Blade-of-the-Moon

Yeah the Bary needed a bit of a wash on the head to bring out what detail there is, but the snout is very sleek almost beak-like.

The Proto is excellent, feels like a juvenile one when you hold it almost barring a few features.

The Baja I wish wasn't quite so soft. I see why they did it, but the droopy tail tip spines gives it a bit of a depressed feel.

Killekor

Thanks for the photos Blade-of-the-Moon! The new CollectA figures look great.
In particular I like the Bajadasaurus and also the Protoceratops is a must have, but I'm not particularly fond of the Baryonyx.

Killekor
Bigger than a camarasaurus,
and with a bite more stronger that the T-Rex bite,
Ticamasaurus is certainly the king of the Jurassic period.

With Balaur feet, dromaeosaurus bite, microraptor wings, and a terrible poison, the Deinoraptor Dromaeonychus is a lethal enemy for the most ferocious hybrid too.

Unlike the rest of the forum,I actually think the Baryonyx is the best of the bunch, not the weakest.
Don't you hate it when you legitimately compliment someone's mustache and she gets angry with you?

Awesome! My order is stuck in LA awaiting clearance 🙀

Same here. Though, I keep overexciting myself, thinking the Liowicia's on that package.

Shonisaurus

It is not to discourage you but it can still be indefinitely held not only by customs but by the health authorities themselves, at least in my nation the state of alarm has been declared throughout the country for the coronavirus. All shops except supermarkets and pharmacies are closed

Sarapaurolophus

That Protocera looks adorable. Hope to see a bunch of nice repaints on this.

I can't wait to order the Bajadasaur! And of course I hope it'll be popular enough to spawn more from other companies.

suspsy

I took a couple of comparison pics for the Bajadasaurus and the Protoceratops here:

This may have already been addressed, but how similar is the Baryonyx to last year's Baryonyx? Usually when they come out with a new figure it improves upon or updates the old one. Is the only real difference that this one is a standard figure & last year's was a deluxe? In the pics they look VERY similar

Yes,they are as similar to each other as you think.Just as you say,the only real difference between this year's Baryonyx and last year's version is that one is a deluxe with a movable jaw and the other is a smaller standard size. :)

My order arrived!
I'm really loving these new figures from CollectA's! They are all very well done.
The protoceratops is just adorable!😃

As for the Bary, it is slightly more active posed than the deluxe version with its head and neck turned to the right, and it's tail has more curvatures. It's a really nice figure and very rich in delicate detail.

I can't post photos for now unfortunately due to computer problems 😩

Bary is getting like Spinosaurus..just too over done.  It just doesn't look all that impressive or at least different from pose to paint.    Doubly surprised on that Diplo repaint as well...I never really liked the original, scale was just too small to pull off the sculpt I think.

I think the new Baryonyx is a decent toy in and of itself, but coming directly on the heels of the superior Deluxe, it just doesn't seem terribly impressive.

Shame they didnt just make it a juvenile to go along with the Deluxe " adult".

I often wondered if CollectA's smaller versions are extra prototypes, an alternate or another option before they settled for a Deluxe size.
Then instead of "discarding "the  other option, they released them instead as a standard size figure.

It just seems redundant to produce a smaller version, but then it's also a shame to discard a nice prototype.

I guess that's possible, just seems..redundant? I guess?

To be honest (and I am probably the only one who feels this way), I almost wish they would either just settle on having their models the deluxe size or the standard size and stop having both. I look at my collection on the shelves and they just seem so mis-matched...a standard size Diplodocus next to a ginormous Styracosaurus...just looks odd. I know it's cool that they give us a choice but it makes for an oddly-scaled conglomeration (more so that it already would be since the figures in neither line are made to scale with each other)). Or at least, offer each species in both a standard and a deluxe size, then if someone liked their figures bigger they stay with deluxe and if space is a premium & they like smaller figures, go with standard.
I just kinda hate when they only offer some species in standard and only offer others in deluxe (well, "hate" is a pretty strong word and it's not like I'm losing sleep over it!....let's just say I'd "prefer" if they gave an option to have all represented species in one size or the other). But like I said, this is probably just me!

In other news....I have the older rearing Diplodocus but haven't sprung for the repaint....is the repaint really that much better? I've only seen pics. What makes it a nicer figure to those who prefer it?)

Concavenator

J @japfeif I think the older Diplodocus is better than this new repaint. The previous color scheme was much better, I don't understand  why they changed it.

Sarapaurolophus

I like either Diplodocus but I will get the new one simply because I am not the biggest fan of bright red markings. Just always look like blood to me.

I like seeing repaints because I come from model horse collecting where "congas" are popular.
Imagine CollectA doing even more repaints on this model, I could have a Diplodocus Riverdance line-up ;)

By the way the Collecta fukuisaurus is an outstanding figure but my question is the following which of the two figures are superior in quality, the Collecta fukuisaurus or the fukuisaurus from Favorite Soft Model museum model?

I don't have the Favorite, so this one seems good enough to me.

avatar_Blade-of-the-Moon @Blade-of-the-Moon Favorite Soft Model's fukuisaurus is also spectacular. I have it and I can assure you that compared to the Collecta fukuisaurus (judging by the photos) it is huge, it comes with a removable base and a skull. He is a nice and sincerely very scientific figure. I recommend it to you.

Honestly, although I know that the Collecta fukuisaurus is much smaller, I understand that it is very scientific looking at the photographs and videos and I understand that it has a more beautiful painting than Favorite's fukuisaurus, although I think that the two figures have the same degree of artistic and sculptural genius.
