I'm curious as to why the Corythosaurus is so much more expensive than the Lambeosaurus as it's not very much larger than the latter. I jumped at two of the new offerings so far, but I'll be holding off on this to see what it's all about.

Dan's Dinosaurs has the Corythosaurus for $21.99.
In the end it was not guns or bombs that defeated the aliens, but that humblest of all God's creatures... the Tyrannosaurus rex.

It is a fairly low price for Dans but it must be taken into account that the price rises due to shipping costs.

Most of DTF members are from US so probably Dan's Dinosaurs is the best option for them..

Thanks! I'll definitely be getting mine from them, but I'll still wait and see how the finished figure looks.

The seller on Amazon is not PNSO themselves (as Yiniao) but Lana Toys. Presumably the same as the eBay people who always put on a significant markup.

I don't see the lambeosaurus head being too big but the Corythosaurus does looks weirdly proportionated.

At first I thought it was because the chest isn't deep enough plus what looks like an angled perspective in the photo, so it makes the head look too large (Lambeosaurus has this issue too - give those hadrosaurs a nice big round gut!). But I'm not sure if that fully accounts for it.

That Corythosaurus is pretty neat, even if the head may be a bit big. Been some time since we had a new great one IIRC
Definitely glad to see some more hadrosaurs on the market!

I love the colors, the pose, and the level of detail on this Corythosaurus. However from the look the photos, the proportions look off for the head? I do not know much about hadrosaurs, forgive me, but is the body just too skinny or is the head too large? I may just wait and see what others think of this model and just go for the Lambeosaurus.
Edit: I read the previous page and more above and saw that everyone was agreeing with the issue of the head.

Flaffy

Oof yeah that Corytho head is waaay too big. Thought the in-hand pics would make the proportions look better, but that doesn't seem to be the case unfortunately.

I wonder which specimen they based it off of? Surely someone along the sculpting process would've noticed the oversized head?

But that's not the main reason why the Tuojiangosaurus has an inconsistent style from the others.
PNSO actually made it on purpse.
A partial quote from a PNSO guy, that the Tuojiangosaurus and relatives had head armours and uniform neck plates to protect the vital parts, but the body skins are unknown. At first, they wanted to borrow the smaller scales from the more general Stegosaurs to make the body skin. But eventually they followed Mr. Ouyang's (head of a museum) advice and made a bolder and more creative version based on the evident that Stegosaurs unearthed in Sichuan Province had large Osteoderms who resemble more an Ankylosaurus than a Stegosaurus.
And here it is. :)

Thanks for the additional info! It's most insightful :))
Do you know where PNSO representatives usually directly interact with the community? Interested to read their direct response.

avatar_KeU @KeU Thanks for sharing those pics here. The comparisons between the Corythosaurus and Lambeosaurus are really helpful, as well as the one with the Tuojiangosaurus. It really is only a tad bit bigger. I do have to agree with the others about the unfortunate oversized head. It is really the only thing detracting from it over all. I was also able to see that the Lambeosaurus has the "hooves" as well as the Corythosaurus, which makes these two the first to incorporate that discovery in their sculpts, which is pretty neat.

Anyone have an idea on the scale of this Corythosaurus? The Lambeosaurus was pretty close to being 1:35.

I don't know! It's a beautiful sculpture and the coloration is very pretty but the head looks too off putting to me. I feel like I'm going to pass on it since I just can't get not distracted by that. To me it looks like if you place the head of a 1:35 sculpt in a 1:40 body ( that's not an exact analogy or scales for the figures but an illustration of what I feel when I see it). I'm conflicted 😅

The Borealopelta is not released correct?

Not yet.

Talking about Corythosaurus figure, I was told that it's got the wrong shape of back frill with no individual skin extensions, but merged into one long line a bit wavy from the top view. also the tail muscles should be bigger as it seems to, especially if compared to a Hartman's skeletal diagrams. Btw still thinking if I should buy it or not, I'm trying to create a collection of a somewhat (mostly) scientifically accurate prehistoric animals, so I was hoping to hear some advise from you guys.

Shonisaurus

avatar_KeU @KeU Thanks for sharing these photos. The corythosaurus looks huge may be one of the reasons why it costs much more than its predecessors for sale lambeosaurus and tuojiangosaurus.

PhilSauria

I have the other most recent releases from PNSO on order and will be placing an order for the Corythosaurus when I find the best price, probably go with local outlet Mini Zoo when they get it in (and I can pay it off in smaller amounts).

Not going to let any accuracy issues suck the enjoyment out of what I find to be a very attractive Dinosaur model, I'll just label it as a sub-adult and go with that.

I love the sculpt of that Corythosaurus, its oversized head doesn't bother me.

I wish that PNSO would make a 1:35 scale Deinocheirus.

Am I missing something with the head? The lower jaw seems to be about 4/5 the length of the forearm, which matches the skeletals I'm seeing shared here.
