Ok that's it almost everything will be closed in France, but they decided to hold the elections of today, they're crazy I don't think I'll go voting, even if I really wanted to.
Borders aren't closed yet either.
I was really worried but now I'm afraid :(

Lets be rational and set all this into relation.  My wife has just survived breast cancer.
If your wife just survived cancer, her immune system is likely still weakened. She has a much higher risk of complications if she does become infected with this virus. Please take this seriously and take the necessary precautions to avoid infection. Right now it´s paramount for all of us to do our best in slowing the spreading of the virus down as much as possible. Otherwise our health systems might collapse, which would result in a much higher death rate.

So Corona to me is nothing more but a silent fart in a storm.  (...) And let us keep kind to each other .
It´s not unlikely that somebody on this forum might lose a loved one to this virus, so in order to be kind to each other I´d say we should also try to be tactful when talking about this. I´m sure you wouldn´t want your wife´s cancer to be compared to a "silent fart in a storm".

I know this sounds very disrepsectful but for me the coronavirus proved more helpful for me.  3 weeks of no school, good time to spend with my dogs and write my first reviews

This has the same energy as Donald Trump bragging about owning the tallest building in NYC again after 9/11.

Agreed, it does sound disrespectful. We need to think about our older relatives before we post such stuff. People are dying.

Please forgive me it was just a joke please im sorry i was just joking
What is happening is a global disgrace and a tragedy at the same time human and economic, especially human, the weakest people are dying, like the elderly and the chronically ill, and when an old man dies, he loses a living encyclopedia and a person who can correct the youngest due to his experience in his long life. One should not frivolize, we must have a little feeling and heart. What is happening is a disgrace and a tragedy and it should not be forgotten that there are people even young without pathologies who are dying.

No one has life bought. Coronavirus can cause death even in young people between 20 and 60 years old, even without pathologies. No one is safe from this global pandemic and epidemic. Success, fame, pleasure, and money are a trivial thing compared to the life of any human being. Let's be tactful, there are many people who are suffering. According to my colleagues at DTF.
Please for give me i just made a joke! Sorry

You are sorry and I know it is a joke but we must be careful all of us who are members of the forum because to a greater or lesser extent we have relatives and relatives with advanced ages or sick people who can be greatly affected by this epidemic. What I have said is forgiven and you know that I am your friend.

This is impacting the museum sector. I work in a public museum in the UK. Last weekend I was at work during an event that saw 4,000 visitors aggregating in the museum, and there's a similar event happening this weekend (I don't know what turnout was like). However, while UK museums are running as normal (as I write this), museums in Ireland and elsewhere are closed to the public to help contain Covid-19. I think it would be prudent for us to follow suit and I suspect there's a good chance we will soon.

We pray for you. This is just what italians and we Spanish have done: nothing until it was too late. Even people did not take that restrictions seriously. Today all day police have patrolled all streets to tell people to go home (some were going for a walk as nothing happened). Parks have been closed. Everything is closed (only food shops, banks, pharmacies and vital things like that). It's amazing that UK does not even think to do that. When I read about it I just went  :o :o

avatar_DinoToyForum @dinotoyforum What avatar_Duna @Duna said take action before it is too late as it has happened in Spain and Italy, our political authorities unfortunately acted unwise and recklessly and now we are paying the consequences. Britain has to declare a state of emergency as soon as possible before it is too late.

avatar_Stegotyranno420 @Stegotyranno Thanks for your words I know you are good people.  ;)

QuoteI am not scared, just cautious. Common sense and calmness fail. I am torn between my opinions that these are ridiculous overreactions and that all these protective measures are necessary.
Maybe we even begin to enjoy this decreed standstill.

Sums it up quite good. Thank you.

One Part is panicking and screams for Apocalypse, the other ones say "Its just a flu"
This ist just black White, yes. But i think, you know what i mean.

I am just cautious aswell. Its something almost everyone can do. For themselves, but mostly for others. This is a new Situation for our Generation and i hope it will not get too extreme. And by this a also mean the behaivior of the people.

Stay Safe, keep calm.

Germanys Borders are now closed aswell.

Lots of university closures in Canada, on top of all public schools being closed. Surprisingly my university made the list despite having a reputation for not caring about its students. My brother works for the government and mentioned to me he's been hearing rumors about a lock down, similar to Italy, but hasn't heard anything official yet. I wouldn't be surprised considering we've been seeing exponential growth as well :/

Logged back in to delete my previous comment after finding out it was fake news... forgot we don't have that option.
Our local tally is: 140 cases for the entire country, 12 expired, 3 recoveries (1 local, 2 tourists).  4 cases in my province, 1 in my town (an older gent, not a 1 yr old child as I previously mentioned).  The entire island is on [modified] lockdown until april 13 (I think) - so no income for me until then. My area hasn't even recovered from the last volcanic eruption yet.

I'll admit, the situation is triggering my anxiety - but we'll persevere.  I'm trying to avoid the vitriol in social media for now... 'just browsing sites like the forum to lift the spirit (so to speak).

UK government advice is now to avoid all non-essential contact, yet museums (and everything else from schools to pubs) still remain open - business as usual. ??? In the museum café today I was surprised to find a queue of a dozen or so OAP's in front of me, and the museum in general surprisingly busy.

Honestly, it isn't possible to discuss this topic without getting political, so I won't, and nor should you.

Museums as I said are closed, but most businesses here in Ottawa are open. Starbucks has removed all their chairs and tables so that it's "To Go" only, but from what I gather, restaurants and bars are not following suit. Indeed, just this afternoon I read that hundreds of people chose to celebrate St. Patrick's day at downtown bars in Chicago.

It makes sense to close museums. They are incredibly important, of course, but ultimately non-essential in times like these. (Don't let anyone know I said that!)

Everything's closing around me. All non-essential businesses in the state that haven't already will be closed tomorrow. I honestly didn't expect this to be so dramatic, but at least it's largely a preventative measure rather than waiting for things to get worse. My university cancelled last week and just today announced that class will be online for the remainder for the semester. I don't know how ceramics or bronze casting classes are going to be done online. Not the way I thought I'd spend spring break this year.

This whole thing has been a great opportunity those of us who are into options trading. Take advantage of the falling market for hard times may be ahead of us might as well try and get something out of it. Sounds vile but it's not harming anyone when you ride the unpredictable wave that the stock market is right now. I'm honestly more worried about the economic impact than the virus itself.

Canada just restricted entry into the country to citizens, permanent residents, immediate family members of citizens and US citizens. Hopefully a lock down comes soon, still too many occupied bars and restaurants in Toronto.

Well, my wife and I are presently staying at home with a near-two month old baby and a 2.5 year old toddler. Son#1 seems to be enjoying it so far, but I'm sure he's missing his daycare. I know I am. We're limiting our outdoor activities to grocery store runs and walks around the neighbourhood. Sure would be great if we had a play structure in our little backyard.

On a positive note, my package from Minizoo should be arriving this week. New CollectA for me and a Kermode bear for the lad.

Who else is already chaffing from self-isolation?

avatar_DinoToyForum @dinotoyforum I see that the Natural History Museum in London has just announced that it is closed to the public until at least the summer.  Perhaps your institution and mine will follow suit now.
