I believe I've come across both when researching prehistoric cetaceans in the past, at the very least from browsing through the list of names in those wikipedia category things on the bottoms of the pages, but that said they are definitely obscure, when compared to the likes of Basilosaurus and Livyatan. Both would be welcomed in my book though, after doing some reading up on them.

Edit: Honestly any early cetaceans would be great to have, since they are rarely made when they aren't Basilosaurus (which was why PNSO's Livyatan was so pleasant to see, if only it didn't have that obtrusive seam).

All those almost-sauropods really get neglected. I'd take any or all of them.

I've now added the recent suggestions.  avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, do you consider the Kaiyodo Thylacosmilus, Platybelodon and Ornithomimus satisfactory or do you want these genera to still stay on the list?

avatar_Sim @Sim Sorry I'm late to seeing this. I'm pretty satisfied with them. As far as Platybelodon goes I think the Eikoh is also nice, aside from being blue. While larger figures would probably be more preferred for both Platybelodon and Ornithomimus, I'll get by with these since they rarely get figures made, more so the latter.

Edit: A few more to add too:

2022 Amazichthys trinajsticae (arthrodire placoderm from Devonian, Morroco)
2022 Innovatiocaris maotianshanensis (radiodont from the Cambrian Chengjiang Lagerstätte in China)
2022 Mieridduryn bonniae (Ordovician arthropod from Wales)

All three have amazing preservation.

Quote from: Gothmog the Baryonyx on November 26, 2021, 10:35:01 PMCan you add Udanoceratops tschizhovi ?
avatar_Gothmog the Baryonyx @Gothmog the Baryonyx, I've changed my mind about it and I've now added Udanoceratops to the list in the first post.  Enough of it is known for it to have a distinctive appearance.  Plus, Gigantoraptor is in the list and its head, like Udanoceratops's, is incompletely known.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin, you're not late seeing this at all!  I've removed Thylacosmilus from the list since you're satisfied with the Kaiyodo version, but I've kept Platybelodon and Ornithomimus (Dromiceiomimus in the list) since you'd like larger versions of them.  I hope that's all correct?  I've also added the new species you mentioned and removed a couple only I was interested in.

I'd argue the actual sauropods themselves are quite overlooked as well, save for Diplodocus, apparently!

It appears to me that sauropods have quite a lot of good figure representations.  Do you think they don't?  In any case they are very well-treated when compared to non-sauropod sauropodomorphs which have 0 good figures!

Since I set up my displays chronologically I like seeing dinosaurs that show a particular group was around earlier or later than its most famous members, like the early Cretaceous stegosaur Wuerhosaurus (there's a model of that one from CollectA though it could use a better one). So, I'd nominate the ankylosaur Mymoorapelta and Gargoyleosaurus and the basal ceratopsians Chaoyangsaurus and Yinlong, all from the late Jurassic.

Faelrin

D @dinofelid Yinlong has a decent figure made from Favorite, but it is pretty hard to come by these days. I'd be in favor of another being made.

avatar_Faelrin @Faelrin Thanks, hadn't known about that one. On the subject of Jurassic ornithischians that could use new models, I'd love some new versions of Camptosaurus and Scelidosaurus, not including resin kits I think Camptosaurus just has the inaccurate quadrupedal CollectA version from 2010, and Scelidosaurus had a study with a new restoration in 2020 so it could use a new model based on that, here's an image from the paper:

Since CollectA has now collaborated with multiple different museums to create their figures recently... It'd be so cool if they collaborated with the Bristol Museum for a new Scleidiosaurus figure. Afterall, the museum is home to 3 of the most well preserved Scleidiosaurus specimens in the UK! (one specimen even has skin impressions preserved :o )

Interesting choices D @dinofelid!  I've added them all except Chaoyangsaurus due to the quality of its remains.  I would very much like a good figure of Scelidosaurus!  You might be interested to know that Vitae and PNSO have made figures of Wuerhosaurus.

As it happens every so often, I've removed a few species only I was interested in which I now no longer want a figure of.  I've also removed Piatnitzkysaurus as its remains are such that a distinctive appearance for it isn't possible.

Concavenator

avatar_Sim @Sim haven't looked at the stats, but regardless I can confidently say sauropods get way lesser figures than theropods and ornithischians do, and pretty sure a big part of them if not the majority are figures of Diplodocus carnegii. Of course sauropods get more figures than the non-sauropod sauropodomorphs though, not even Plateosaurus itself currently has a good figure and it's the most famous one... (well, there's the Wild Past one, which hopefully will be released at some point).

On another hand, feel free to remove Jakapil from the list (unless someone else is interested in it), as I was the one who requested it in the first place. I'm no longer interested in it due to being fragmentary (I know it has a unique appearance, but it's still speculative and the remains are not good enough for me).

dinofelid

avatar_Sim @Sim Thanks! Now that you mention it I do remember checking out the other Wuerhosaurus models before settling on the CollectA version, the PNSO was too small for me and the Vitae one was nice-looking but it had those large shoulder spikes, while most reconstructions I saw didn't include shoulder spikes. The wikipedia article for Wuerhosaurus does say "A single spike was found but was seen by Dong as being positioned on the shoulder", but I would speculate that if there is ambiguity about whether the spike that was found was attached to the shoulder or was part of the thagomizer, then the spike they found probably wasn't as large as the on the Vitae model, since all the reconstructions showing spikes only on the thagomizer have them much smaller in comparison to the rest of the body than the shoulder spike on that model.
