Yun published two studies in the context of reassessing Dynamoterrorand a sub-adult Daspletosaurus torosus frontal which implies that the autapomorphies that made Dynamoterrorand Thanatotheristes diagnostic are inadequate because of they are present in other Tyrannosaur taxa. Dynamoterror is rendered nomen dubium and Thanatotheristes is syn. into the genus Daspletosaurus.

I hope this is true for no reason other than killing one of, if not the, worst names for a dinosaur.

Dynamoterror will not be missed. I have nothing for or against Thanatotheristes as a name, reference aside it's indistinct enough when incorporated into the overall name that it doesn't bother me.

Well that has to be the fastest I've seen new genera names end up as nomen dubium and/or sunk into other genera.

As with every new paleontological paper that gets published, these latest ones should not be taken as gospel. The authors who formally described Thanatotheristes have yet to make a rebuttal. It's possible we have a case of nomen dubium here, and it's possibly we don't.

The truth may be due to my own fanaticism because of my love for dinosaurs and prehistoric animals, and in general for my love for animals of any age, but I sincerely celebrate that it has been the end of that ominous name of dinosaur "dynamoterror". that dinosaurs be demonized by giving them names that mean bad things, dinosaurs were not worse or better than us, neither more nor less. If it were up to me, I would remove all the names of prehistoric animals whose meaning is negative or in any case terrifying.
