Nigersaurus (Wild Safari collection by Safari Ltd)

…ith the reasonable price tag this should become a popular item for collectors and for creative play alike. Available from Safari.com (here) and Amazon.com (here)…

Nyctosaurus (Age of the Dinosaurs by PNSO)

…nice rendition of an obscure pterosaur. For pterosaur collectors in particular I think this little model is a must have and can be found for a reasonable price on amazon.com here. Hopefully in the future we’ll see more models of this intriguing animal. Available from Amazon.com here…

Deinosuchus (Carnegie Collection by Safari Ltd)

…en’t all black either on this version, you can see slit-shape pupils in each eye. The figure is 26cm long. Available from Safari.com (here) and Amazon.com (here)…

Prehistoric Life Toob (Safari Ltd)

…diverse array of interesting creatures. Lots of potential for dioramas and highly recommended for small children. Available from Safari.com (here) and Amazon.com (here) for just $10…

Ichthyovenator (CollectA)

…t, but it’s a distinctive and intriguing creature that should look good in any collection. And it’s great to be getting a wider variety of spinosaurids. Thanks go out to FaunaFigures.com for this and many other dinosaur figures, where is is available for purchase! Also available from Amazon.com here and Amazon.co.uk here….

Caudipteryx (Carnegie Collection by Safari Ltd.)

Scutosaurus (Wild Safari by Safari Ltd)

…aurus but also for the fact that it can be had for just $4 (US)! I recommend it to any and all collectors! Available from Safari.com (here) and Amazon.com (here)…

Beipiaosaurus (Carnegie Collection by Safari Ltd)

…larly nice and birdlike, they are red with a gold iris and round black pupil. In my opinion this is the best therizinosaur figure available. Available from Safari.com (here) and Amazon.com (here) Feel free to join in the dino-discussions at the Dinosaur Toy Forum…

Deltadromeus (Carnegie Collection by Safari Ltd)

…his figure one can only presume that it represents a young individual. Overall it is a nice little figure. Available from Safari.com (here) and Amazon.com (here)…

Kronosaurus (Papo)

…iligently measured, even from higher-end collector brands, so this is a welcome surprise from Papo. Comparison with Mattel’s 1:35 action figure, also released in 2023. In all fairness, Papo has never approached their extinct animals with strict scientific accuracy in mind – they started out with waves of Jurassic Park knockoffs, after all – so grading the Kronosaurus needs to be done on a curve. The general proportions of the model are great, but…

Bothriolepis (Paleozoo)

…general, Palaeozoic creatures receive far less attention from the big toy companies than do their more famous Mesozoic competitors. This has left a vacant niche for some enthusiastic newcomer to step into…introducing, Paleozoo. There are currently ten Palaeozoic species available in the Paleozoo line, and apparently more to come. I’ll be reviewing a few of them over the coming months, but we have to start somewhere, so let’s kick off with their B…

Protochirotherium (Bullyland, exclusively for the Regionalmuseum Wolfhagen, Germany)

…overall really well done, if it had not been for the goofy heads with the completely failed teeth. Bullyland figures are of soft, but rough rubber and never really go as much into detail as Safari does. The Safari Postosuchus is a great figure, and in direct comparison one must be honest and say that the Bullyland Raiusuchians don´t reach that quality in detail and accuracy. Their Protochirotherium is no exception. It is a nice figure, overall, 2…

Iguanodon (Kleinwelka)

…e “version 1” is made from a very lightweight “plastic”, about 0.01 lb (in comparison with the “version 2” that weights about 0.08 lb). The material looks similar but in addition to the different weight, the surface of the “version 1” is rougher to the touch. The “version 1” has a lighter colour than the “version 2”. Their size is exactly the same in both(exactly the same mold). The Iguanodon is totally reminiscent of Zdeneck Burian’s 1940s and 50…

Confuciusornis (Age of the Dinosaurs by PNSO)

…“Little” figures in the PNSO’s Age of the Dinosaurs series. PNSO they have completely done it justice. The main reason I wanted to review this particular figure is because of my involvement in an exciting Dinosaurs of China exhibition coming to Nottingham, UK, in summer 2017. This world exclusive one-time-only exhibition will explore the relationship between dinosaurs and birds, and includes real fossils of feathered dinosaurs and prehistoric bird…

Pachycephalosaurus (Recur)

…an educated guess, while we know the foot had three functional digits, so compliments on accuracy here! The colour is subdued and calming, but for some striking red stripes on the tail. This is the sort of special flourish that adds character to a toy. Suspsy has commented elsewhere on the squeezable soft material Recur figures are constructed from. This makes them well suited for play but differs from the vast majority of other major brand dinos…

Corythosaurus (Bernd Wolter Design)

…t is as detailed as a sculpt can be, very high quality indeed. The head is compact and shows us that dinosaurs had babies revealing a scheme of childlike characteristiks. This scheme, as with modern birds or crocodiles, triggered the feeding instinct in the parents. The crest is not yet fully developed, it is just a small bump. The jaw muscles are well sculpted, and so is the beak at the front of the muzzle. A strong chewing unit is about to devel…

Triceratops (Sideshow Dinosauria)

4.3 (7 votes) Review by Dan – DansDinosaurs.com Photos by Dan and Robban Now that everyone and their mother owns a Sideshow Tyrant King statue, the clever folks at Sideshow are counting on buyers to look at their giant Tyrannosaurus displays and wonder if anything seems missing. Can you guess? After T. rex, this is consistently the most popular dinosaur, and even a more casual collector may have difficulty refusing one. Certain species in the Din…

Tyrannosaurus Collection (Kaiyodo Capsule Q Museum)

…ls are actually kind of hard to review; there isn’t anything usually worth complaining about. I suppose the base of the tail could be thicker but that is really a minor complaint, hardly worth mentioning. The feathered rex is no less impressive in it’s sculpting but some of the paint choices and application I’m not so fond of. Striding forward on a flat base the figure is decked out in black plumage with a red crest of feathers on the head and red…

Tyrannosaurus rex (CamoXtreme series, Arctic version, Jurassic Park 3, by Hasbro)

…ively recently released JP figures such as this Dilophosaurus: dinotoyblog.com/2010/12/01/dilophosaurus-jurassic-park-2009-toyline-by-hasbro/. As a result, the figure is imbalanced, and mine at least only stands unsupported when tilted backwards into a pose reminiscent of the original Papo T. rex. Weird posture out of the way, now we turn to the equally weird colour scheme, which consists of icy hues of white and blue, fitting for an ‘Arctic’ dino…

Prehistoric sharks (Toob by Safari Ltd)

…ferent posture and distinct colour scheme, from the campy pink of the Scapanorhynchus, to the sharky grey-blue of the cretoxyrhina. All of the figures are glazed with an appropriately shimmering and watery finish. Sarcoprion Scapanorhynchus I highly recommend this toob and commend Safari Ltd for stepping out of the box. I imagine this was a bit of a risk from a business perspective, so I hope it pays off for them. Perfect toys for bath time! Xenac…
